My first stop in Liverpool was a tour with Clare from Mad Day Out Beatles Taxi Tour and what an amazing start to my time here.

Clare’s passion for her home town was evident as she discussed the nautical history and her Beatles knowledge exceeded my expectations. We hit all the hot spots including the childhood homes of the Fab Four, Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields just to name a few.

Ian is fantastic! Super knowledgeable, helpful, kind, and made sure we got great access to all the Beatles sites while being respectful to the area. Excellent up close Beatles experience for limited mobility.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I booked this private tour as my mother has limited mobility.

I booked the 3 hour tour.

From the moment we met Ian at our hotel he made sure my mum was comfortable. Before setting off Ian took the time to explain how the tour worked, any potential short walking distances and adapted where needed to ensure full experience.

For me, this was way above and beyond the tour 'experience' we had booked.

We had our dog (Heidi) with us and her needs were well looked after too.

The tour itself was incredible. Ian is a fountain of knowledge in all things Beatles and you can tell from how he talks throughout the tour he is passionate and enjoys what he does.

The main standout for me with this tour from the Beatles Tour Bus, is that you get the chance to experience, in closer detail, the stops. For example, the tour bus drives through Penny Lane with a quick overview as places whizz past, with Ian's tour, you have the opportunity to stop in Penny Lane, see locations, take photographs and hear the history - this experience alone is well worth it.

I would 100% recommend Ian and his Mad Days Out Beatles Tour.

Absolute blast & an essential experience for any Beatles/music fan. I’ve been on other Beatles themed tours in Liverpool and this one was a cut above the rest. I felt like I got to experience all the sites more intimately and close-up. Ian was extremely knowledgeable and offered fascinating background information that even I didn’t know as a lifelong fan! I loved the inclusion of fun photo ops and music in the taxi which made for a memorable and emotionally moving experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to return for a longer tour with Ian next time I’m in Liverpool!

My husband and I had the most wonderful time with Ian!! Everything was phenomenal, don't know where to begin. He was accommodating with our time and pickup location, he was there even a bit earlier than scheduled. The zero emissions cab is so well kept and lovely. Absolutely loved how he played songs as we were going to/from a location that it coincided with. You can feel and tell he is genuinely passionate and knowledgeable about The Beatles and his delivery of information is wonderful. Was not expecting all the great photo angles he took of us at the sites!! Did the three hour tour but if we are ever in town again we will definitely do the longer one. You cannot go wrong booking him to give you the inside scoop on the lives of the band in their hometown. Thank you for making our time in Liverpool a great one.

This tour is THE REAL DEAL. Our driver, tour guide, and owner of Mad Day Out, Ian, is personable, friendly, and way beyond knowledgeable about The Fab Four and Liverpool. He is effectively a curator of all things Beatles. We booked his tour services weeks in advance as Ian and the Yellow Beatles Taxi is in demand and now I see why. The three of us were picked up at our hotel precisely on time. Ian's encyclopedic knowledge of the key sites serves to waste no time as he focuses not just on buildings and places, but on the insightful information that completes anyone's previous knowledge of the early lives and the upbringing of John, Paul, George, Ringo, and even a few of lesser known "members" of the Beatles story. I simply cannot offer a higher referral for the ultimate Liverpool tour than Ian and Mad Day Out Tours.

Step back in time with one of the biggest fans in the World - Ian your personal driver of Mad-day out Beatles tour.

You will visit all the major historic land marks and Ian’s personal running commentary is priceless, what a fount of knowledge.

There is comfortable luxury in the Electric cab and Ian ensures you have toilet and drink breaks.

The cab is sanitized before your trip and there are appropriate COVID measures.

Plenty of photo opportunities available and safety is Ian’s priority. It seems like everyone in town knows Ian, which is understandable as he is a local. Being a musician himself Ian knows music history so your ride is fabulously engaging.

Don’t be disappointed, book this trip in advance.

Once again a fantastic tour with Ian. My second tour but my sisters first. Ian's knowledge is unbelievable you can picture scenes as he goes through the lives of the Beetles. It was fantastic and I will be taking the tour again in December with a friend and I cannot wait.
