Had a great mackerel fishing trip yesterday.
Highly recommend this experience to tourists and locals alike.

I called Dave in the morning and he told me the meeting point and we headed over. You meet them on the quayside opposite the Old Sail Loft restaurant. Payment is cash, there is an ATM and cash back in local Co-op but you must have your physical debit card to use these.

Dave and Dave took out the passengers in two separate boats. You’re then given your rod and he explains how to use it. We had a hugely successful trip and all caught plenty of mackerel.

They were both great guys and we had a really enjoyable time out on the boat. We are on a big family holiday and we bought back plenty of fish for the bbq, cooked them with dill, lemon and parsley.

Absolutely brilliant family afternoon catching lots of fish with the delightful
and fascinating skipper Dave (as seen in Beyond Paradise no less!) who has lots of stories and insights to tell.

Read lots of blogs and reviews and soon worked out people book via signs from the quay side (though an hour away, we were searching online). We called the day before to check availability and Dave was charming and helpful and I knew he was the chap to go with, totally living up to the blogs I’d read.

We had a lovely few hours two adults, two kids (4 & 6) and would highly recommend!

Found this gem by accident on Looe harbour. Dave was so knowledgeable and friendly as we were welcomed onto the Emma Louise. Had a great experience and it was excellent value for money, all equipment was provided and caught some good fish. Would definitely go again when in the area.

Top of the list of must-do things on every year's Cornwall trip. Even though we stay up on the north coast at Polzeath, we still make our yearly pilgrimage to Looe to go fishing with Dave Haines on the Emma Louise. We have probably been going for best part of 20 years now, and it is always a wonderful couple hours out on the boat. We normally catch a bounty of Mackerel to feed the family that evening. I really can't recommend this enough.

A must when you visit Looe. Spend a couple of hours enjoying the thrills of catching mackerel. Dave Haines is the perfect host, who makes sure you have an relaxing and enjoyable time!
