I wasn’t going to write this but I think people should be aware. Back in winter from October to January, I moved into a flat rented by M L Estates. Since the first time I tried to put the heating on, it didn’t work, there was also a leak that’s caused a wide spread of mould into the apartment I was living in. You could clearly tell the issue had been ignored in the past, the door was rotten but had been painted over.This continued the entire duration of my rental period and progressively got worse, with active water coming into my apartment. I reported this back to Kay, and I was always met with hostility, they left me without any form of heating during winter, I could see my breath in the flat, even worse, the apartment had huge windows and a vent in my bedroom letting cold air from the outside in. It was awful, I was told we’ve been an estate agent for 25 years, we can fix a bit of mould, yet nothing was done and there was clearly a history of this kind of problem. I wouldn’t go near this estate agents. They were aware I was estranged university student, yes I had fallen short on rental due date, but given the current climate of the cost of living and being a student in itself, it’s difficult to navigate, this wasn’t met with much understanding, instead a constant hownding “ as she was following the landlord instruction”. My experience was gross negligence, and I would hate for someone else to be in the position. It was only when I googled how long you can leave a person without heating when I realised this situation really was terrible, if I had the funds I would of escalated it, of course they knew that though. I reported this early December, I moved out the very end of January . Just be aware if you are living alone, and don’t have much support, the estate agency is not for you.

We had great help trying to sell our property through ML, they went above and beyond to help. We had agreed a price with potential buyer for the buyer to have there mortgage offer cancelled. We initially agreed a much lower price, £16k less in fact to try rescue the sale. After much discussion with family we decided to pull out as we would have been out of pocket with the work we carried out on the property. Obviously this was no fault of ML and they tried everything they could to help sell. Would definitely use again in future. Thanks

We first came across ML Estates when we purchased our home. We were struck by their friendliness and professionalism so when we decided to to rent our house out while we went abroad, we naturally thought of them to manage the property on our behalf.

This turned out to be a good decision. We never have to worry about anything. They have a portfolio of tradesmen to call on if any repairs need to be carried out. They are very quick to reply to all communications and we trust them, which is the most important thing. I would certainly recommend them.

We recently viewed a property for sale in seaton sluice with ML Estates…
Upon arrival the lady was very nice but stated she had never been to the property before so this would be her first time seeing it as well.
This was an occupied property and the owner was not present for the viewing. The estate agent let us wander around the house on our own which I thought was weird considering this house had someone’s possessions in and anything could have been taken.
We currently have our home up for sale with another agent and I certainly would not be happy with people walking around my home around my belongings without supervision.
At the end of the viewing we had a few questions on the property. Of which the estate agent couldn’t answer. I don’t think she had done any research on the house before showing it. She said she would find out and let us know.
We have never had the answers back from the questions we asked, nor has anyone asked us for feedback on the property since we viewed it. If I was the vendor of this property I would feel extremely let down by ML Estates as it does not appear they have the clients best interests at heart nor the buyers interests.
