Once you manage to access the car park , there is plenty information on walks, etc HOWEVER, the access in is absolutely dreadful. Every single vehicle trying to get in had to stop and reassess the best way to negotiate the large concrete blocks. The 'access' is simply not big enough. Perhaps the local authority is trying to deter campervans (in which case they will have succeeded) but any family sized car or SUV had great difficulty. One chap reversed in and the young lady next to me had a large scrape/gouge along her car door.
BE WARNED.

Free car parking at the Spirit of Scotland monument and this is the start of the walk up Loudoun Hill. A bit boggy at the foot of the hill but worth the walk to the top for the views.

This was the fifth place I tried to walk my dog in Ayrshire today, and the fifth failure because the local council doesn't seem to want anything bigger than a car parking anywhere in the county.

Every single carpark from several beaches to here all had height barriers stopping anyone with a tall vehicle from accessing anything. Obviously the message is that tourists in campers are not welcome.

Easy to find. 10 mins to the top from the car park. Path takes you so far the rest is simple enough. Some nice sculptures too. Views across to Arran from the top
