Wow! Just wow! When planning our holiday in North Norfolk, this was one attraction we simply couldn’t miss seeing. The journey here was a little trek across a beautiful field with some of the rare country pancakes dotted around. There is then a kissing gate (not to be missed) and you enter the tranquil woodland area. Lorna’s log is just a short distance up the path from here up a small incline and, as it comes into view the experience is quite uncanny. It has to be seen to be believed! Even the dog showed signs of being overwhelmed by the magnificence of the structure.

You can bet we will be coming back and bringing family and friends to share this “once in a lifetime“ experience! 10/10 😁

As someone who has experienced cities like Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Monaco and seen sights such as the Swiss Alps and The Lake District. It can take a lot to get me excited, but oh boy this log got me bursting at the seams with enthrallment!

I made the trip up from Norwich Specifically to see Lorna's Luscious Log!

I started in West Runton, walking up through the woods to make my way to the holy site. As anticipation grew I almost couldn't contain my inner glee. I wanted to run full speed to gaze my eyes upon this marvelous deity!

The Log was guarded upon however, I must be quiet and stealthy to sneak past the Log's protectors. (Many Cows in a rolling green field, cow guards picture included)

But at last, Lorna's Log, my eyes deceive me, can it really be!? Such beauty, such elegance, such... ... ...

Words cannot describe the in person beauty of Lorna's Log. You must simply visit for yourself...

Having seen this phenomenal attraction and all it had to offer, we planned an entire family holiday around proximity to Lorna’s Log. Staying at the C&C club site gave us daily access within a few minutes walk!

On our first of many trips out to the log the anticipation was palpable. Entering the atmospheric woods the dappled sunlight and twisted branches of rhododendron created an almost otherworldly effect. Within a few hundred meters we stumbled across the main event: the log did not disappoint. Laying gracefully across our path as a perfect metaphor for the barriers we all must overcome in life, yet also representing our very real connection to the living world and the fragility of existence. Thank you Lorna’s Log for this transcendental experience, we shall be returning. See moody log-shot enclosed.

I really enjoyed visiting this famous log. It took me a while to find. It does seem that it's slowly being buried by sediment brought down from the hill after heavy rain. Initially I was worried I wouldn't find it. It appears that the path has been cleared of logs , moved to the side. There are some other fab logs to look at. I took some great photos. I found Lorna's log not far up the path ( from near the gate at the bottom, where the field is).

Wow - what a log. One of the wonders of Norfolk.

First attempt to get here was aborted due to adverse weather, with the area flooded, and long horned beasts blocking the access route.
But today we once again set out as great adventurers and were astonished at this magnificent log.

We planned our whole walk with 12 Cub Scouts around the visit and they loved the whole experience too.

The log itself is deceptive. It appears to be lying proud of the surface but on one side the path is level with the top of the log , so it’s really a step.
I have seen the Great Wall of China, been to the Pyramids and seen a grown man satisfy a camel. Nothing beat this log.
