Buzzer to get in always goes unanswered, LNER platform staff were dismissive and not helpful, often low on snacks and drinks and the lounge itself is generally unstaffed.

I use them every month as I have to travel to London the waiting room for first class is very nice with lots of bits on offer there are different drinks and snacks for you to eat and drink when you want one the staff on the platform are polite to you and very helpful when you need them. The train are alway clean and staff really nice and very professional the standard seating is comfortable with enough room but the first class seating is very comfortable you can recline you Seat a little and there is lots of room. The food on offer is very nice and the drinks are too I would recommend the gin and tonic and then just sit back and relax and enjoy the journey.

Worst first class lounge I’ve been in, both coffee machines not working, a couple of packs of crisps (only plain)and a couple of packs of biscuits (either plain shortbread or ginger stem), the place was dirty and Stunk of sewage

I mean it’s warm and clean but you don’t get much. A coffee machine and a square of chocolate is the most you can expect. Not staffed so I don’t know how access is policed.

Tables a mess, rubbish left from previous users on table. Nothing at all on offer except water and hot water from the coffee machine. Not worth anything more on a train fair just like a normal waiting room.

Nobody to let you in. Eventually found someone after a search of the station! There was no coffee or electricity to charge up phones either. Just bottled water. I guess I had to be grateful for that and a comfy seat after a long day of travelling and 2 cancelled trains.

Cafe quality nothing more. Looking rather dated and scruffy looking.

Offers tea, coffee, still & sparkling water, biscuits and salt and vinegar crisps. No diary free or gluten free alternatives. Nothing special.

Guard asked me to move to my reserved seat in a very busy carriage from one that had just two people in it. I appeared to be the only person say next to someone I wasn't travelling with. Thank god I no longer have to commute daily in to London. It was better run when Virgin had the franchise and that's a bold statement.

Go up
