I stayed for a few nights when on holiday in Arran, and loved it. I had large single room, facing garden instead of sea, but the garden is so lovely that was no hardship! Room was nicely decorated, comfortable & had everything needed. Bathroom was good & practical, though decor a little dated. Breakfasts had great choice & cooked options very good. Marion was the perfect hostess - helpful, friendly, explained everything, gave advice where needed on local attractions. Setting is superb - great place to view sunsets! Easy 10min walk to village for meals, or half hour drive to Brodick. Oh, and did I mention the home-bakes sitting on the sideboard every afternoon?

From start to finish a fantastic stay.||A lovely welcome from Marion who is a wonderful host.We stayed for two nights exploring the west side of the island. Lochside is in a stunning location with its own swans and cygnets on their own loch! Our room was vert comfortable and warm - it was cold outside in early June! A bonus was the afternoon tea with cake - lovely after a day's walking. Super breakfast with 9 items (if you want all of them)including haggis.||A wonderful stay - thanks Marion.

My husband and I enjoyed a delightful stay at Lochside B&B. We were greeted by the lovely Marion who showed us to our room. The room was immaculately clean and had a superb view of the sea.||There was a nice relaxed feel to this B&B and we took full advantage of the afternoon tea in the guest lounge. Exactly what we needed after a day of exploring the island. ||Breakfast was excellent, a good range of cereals, fruits, yogurts, juices etc and the option of a full Arran breakfast.||The only downside to our stay is that we were only staying the one night!! ||All in all, a lovely family run B&B.

We planned our visit a few months ago as part of my quest to visit more Scottish Islands. We have been on Arran many times but it was the best way to get to Gigha and then the Slate Islands. The Rooms and sitting room and dining room are just lovely. We had one lovely cooked breakfast and because of an early ferry departure a special breakfast was left in the fridge for us. It was magnificent. The man made Loch in the garden is brilliant and full of wildlife. We will be back and will tell all our friends about it. We have stayed in B & B many times but my wife reckons this is the best one we have stayed in. I see no reason to disagree with her as she is an expert in this field.

Stayed back in October just as they were about to close for winter so left review till now. Everything about this place, our stay, the hosts was first class. Accomodation is spot on in every way, the breakfast is wholly adequate for your day ahead, the rooms are comfortable clean and ours had an amazing view. The location is beautiful, close to the beach and Blackwaterfoot is within walking distance and the grounds of the property are stunning. Arran is an amazing place we saw deer, red squirrels galore at Broddick castle with its amazing hide, seals and birds of prey even a distant Golden Eagle. I climbed Goatfell, not for the fainthearted but totally worth the effort the views are breathtaking. We covered Arran all over and everywhere is easy to find. Lochside is an amazing base to embark on your adventures it will not disappoint. Our only regret is not staying a little longer.

This was our one night stop over whilst cycling round the beautiful island of Arran.|We arrived a little ahead of schedule and our hostess wasn't at home but her very nice son, who was tending the beautifully kept gardens, showed us to our room. |The room was pristine and very comfortable, with tea making facilities and ensuite.|Marion, our hostess arrived shortly afterwards and met us with a very warm welcome, gave us lots of information and invited us to coffee and home baking in the lounge. |The house is wonderfully situated in grounds beside a small loch and lovely views of the sea.|She kindly put our bikes away securely in a shed, and was happy to give us an early breakfast so we could get on our travels in the morning. |Breakfast was excellent with fruit, fruit juices, yogurt, cereal, croissants and hot food freshly cooked to order. |I would highly recommend the Lochside Guest House, the nicest B&B I have encountered on my travels.

Over the years, when my wife and I have stayed on the Isle of Arran our favorite B&B has been Lochside. The previous owners, Marjorie and George, have now retired (but they live next door if you want to say hello) but we can tell you that the quality of your stay will not have changed. Last summer we stayed for almost a week and got to stay in the same room as past visits. Talk about a warm "Welcome Home!!" The room's cozy and comfy, the breakfasts are great -- And believe me, you need a hearty "Full Scottish" if you're going to trek out to those amazing standing stones on Machrie Moor. The new owners of Lochside, Marion and Alan, do a "Bang Up Job" (as we say in the States) and we look forward to our next stay with them on Arran. It's almost Christmas, so we want to send Holiday Greetings to them and their family.

Fantastic b&b, superclean, lovely hosts, yummy breakfast, not to mention the views! Shortcut from the b&b along the shore to restaurants, butcher, local shops and golf. Lochside has a superb garden, with a loch, very tranquil. Can't praise this b&b enough. Cakes and tea/coffee for guests in the afternoon, special service! This will be where we return when coming back to Arran.
