Loch Lomond Waterfront - Luxury Scottish lodges with hot tubs - Balmaha

The accommodation posed as five-star luxury holiday rental, but the two lodges we stayed at were aged and poorly maintained, not to mention that so many facilities inside were broken or malfunctioning. The drainage in the shower didn't work, making it impossible to take a shower downstairs. The joinery work in the bathroom were broken or falling in several places. The water pressure was extremely poor and prevented my family from being able to take showers simultaneously, or even using a tap or flush a toilet while a shower is running. Our mattress was sunken and did not feel five star.

The surroundings were pretty and well kept, and accessibility to local amenities and tourist attractions was good.

There were not much services provided during our stay. And none of these issues reported could be solved before we left. Overall we feel that the lodges were over-advertised, and and that the lodges were not worth the money we paid for.

This was our second holiday at the Waterfront. Last year we had a lodge, which we thoroughly enjoyed, but this year, as I have several health issues, we stayed at one of the chalets. We found this to be perfect- no stairs to scale at night & everything on one level. The chalet seemed just as big as the lodge & didn’t feel at all cramped. The living area is light & spacious with large windows & doors opening onto the patio area, overlooking the Loch and complete with a hot tub which is checked daily. The bedrooms were slightly smaller than the lodge’s, but just as well equipped & there are 3 bathrooms in the chalet. The kitchen has a dishwasher & coffee maker- complete with a supply of dishwasher tabs & coffee & is very well equipped indeed. It is a delightful setting and if you seek a peaceful break in 5* surroundings , look no further . We hope to return again next year.

Overall a disappointing stay considering the large cost to stay at the lodges. Overall felt cat fished with the dated and damaged interior ranging from damaged kitchen work surface and poorly maintained appliances to the DIY vibe of the bathroom and mold in the shower. Also has issues with hot tub but that was swiftly dealt with. I commend the clean presentation of the lodge which was good for our 18 month old when crawling around. Luckily we didn’t stay much in the lodge on our stay due to the amazing views but if you want to treat yourself to somewhere nice look elsewhere

We had an amazing time at the lodge. It was spacious and more than enough room for 4 people and a dog. Both rooms were en-suite and a separate shower/bathroom down the stairs. The balconies on the upper lever were really lovely and afforded a better view over the grounds and out to the loch. Kitchen was adequate for all your needs and the addition of some of the basics definitely lets you get settled in with a cuppa before unpacking. The staff were very helpful and although we had no issues during our stay there were contacts available. It’s a 5 minute walk from Balmaha which was ideal if you didn’t want to drive everywhere.

I had the pleasure of staying in the Abbotsford chalet. The chalet is designed for comfort and luxury. Exquisite scenery greeted me every morning, together with sight of two hares, two characterful ducks and a seagull in the meadow, leading to Loch Lomond shoreline. The weather was hot and having the substantial private patio, with furniture & hot tub, well what more could I ask - it has been an absolute pleasure - your body feel immensely relaxed following a time at Loch Lomond Waterfront Lodges. The Abbotsford has everything you need - fab wi-fi & TV - the mattresses and pillows are 5* and towels super soft. The kitchen is fully equipped, dishwasher, all the utensils, incl laundry room. I will be returning and highly recommend.

The quality of the spacious well equipped lodges was first class, the site was quiet and private but close to the village. Having the loch at the bottom of the grounds suited the swimmers in the family, although actual swimming depth was quite a bit out from the shore! Plenty grass area for games and nice to see swans and their cygnets in the pond.

Very difficult to find anything to complain about. An EV charger would be handy and I suggest would pay for itself within 12 months - yes that is the extent of my criticism. Superby equipped, modern, clean and comfortable. The housekeeper deserves a bonus! Quite simply have never stayed in self catering accomodation that comes close. Wonderful views, very peaceful and wondering why it took so long to visit the area. A couple of tips; order takeaway from local pub from website and enjoy on patio; the drive to fort william is awsome.

My mum and I are just back from staying in the new studio Ash at loch Lomond waterfront.
First impression very present welcome, studio very clean, lovely aroma, comfortable bed and sofa bed, kitchen fully kitted out, toilet area nicely finished.
We had a small issue with heating, this was sorted promptly and very professionally.
Views were lovely, and a nice short walk even in the rain, down to loch.
We only which we could have stayed another night.
We will recommend to family and friends, and hope to visit again.
