I suggest anyone hiring a campervan from this place goes elsewhere. They don't do any checks at all on the people who hire out these vans. I had to chase the guy who I booked it with. Had to check the MOT, which there wasn't any. I set off with insurance details intact. Broke down, the company wouldn't pick me up as the vehicle had beenon SORN! Heaven forbid if I would have had an accident! I raised it with them, they told me to speak to the renter direct. When I was sorting this out, directly with the guy I booked it through, there is a mysterious £130 discrepancy that isn't accounted for from my end or the renters end. I raised this with Leisure rentals, radio silence. I will be reporting this company to trading standards.

I do not recommend anyone to book a car through this company. It is absolutely unserious! My camper, which I booked 2 months ago, was cancelled yesterday by the owner E. Cohen, on the grounds that there had been a double booking through leisure rentals direct. A week before our trip. We had made a binding booking via the website and signed a contract. As renters, we had strict cancellation deadlines. But when the owner cancelled, he simply ignored our contractual agreement and made himself legally liable. The flights are booked but we are now without a motorhome. Since their cancellation we were not able to contact the customer service, no replacement and the deposit has not been returned. The links from the email to the advert have been disabled and I have no way of contacting or prosecuting the owner.

Avoid this company at all cost. It could cost you a lot of money if you have an accident.
I booked a motor home. It clearly stated on their website that insurance was included in the hire costs. During booking there was a owners terms and conditions link, when I clicked on it the only information provided was “Driving license will need to be checked on acceptance of booking”. However, after paying for the rental I was given a whole list of terms and conditions which did not insure me for the vehicle. I was informed by the owner that I would need to take out my own insurance. I decided to cancel the booking immediately as I was not insured. This resulted in leisure rentals retaining a £106 service fee. When I contacted Leisure Rentals they were not concerned that their site was not displaying the correct terms and conditions and that they were advertising insurance included when this was not the case. Leisure rentals may respond to this saying that insurance was included or that I accepted full terms and conditions but I will leave it for you to decide who to believe. Trading standards have been contacted.

Very good website which has brought many valuable and nice customers to us for 3 years now.
Motorhome hire is great for the camping / outdoors minded family or small group but not for those expecting high grade hotel comforts which very occasionally leads to dissatisfaction.
Leisure Rentals is the perfect solution for hirers who want a large choice. Works extremely well for us to offer customers our extensive fleet to be compared to other vehicles giving the consumer real options.
The 1 bad review I have just seen is unfair and not reflective of Leisure Rentals. My suggestion is use Leisure Rentals and avoid another website called MotorhomeRentalGroup who we have also used. MotorhomeRentalGroup take the money direct from the customer and then deduct commission sending some of the money to the Motorhome owner/company giving the impression they are the rental company when they are not. Leisure Rentals is merely connecting the hirer to the supplier which keeps costs low and service high for the user. Stephen

I've found Leisure rentals to be very competent, they are helpful and have generated many leads for Cornish Motorhome Hire and make good efforts to protect hirer and hiror. They have the same values as us, IE they want happy customers.

We got scammed by Whiteshark Van hire that had various false listings of Leisurerentalsdirect. Leisurerentals does not vet their suppliers, leading to this issue. Additionally no assistance was given to us on notifying Leisurerentals that we had been scammed. Use this site at your own risk.
