Lawers is a large bungalow with at the front a built in garage to the left and the main house accommodation to the right. Parking at the front of the bungalow is off the (quiet) main road adjacent to the garden and is quite suitable for the house owners car plus that of the guests.
The rear of the house has been cleverly designed to give two properties one for the Owners and the other for the guests. A high walled garden gives a good level of privacy. A nice garden with patio.
Inside the kitchen / dining/ lounge area is compact with all the facilities required for kitchen work.
The bedroom has good hanging and drawer spaces with an en suite toilet / / sink / walk in shower.
The property is well maintained and Mrs Cunningham is a helpful and gracious host who is normally on hand to deal with any guest queries / questions.
Auchtertool is not an obvious choice as a holiday accommodation destination but the village has some nice houses and a small park adjacent to the primary school in a slighly elevated location where you can see all around the village surrounded by rolling farmland. With such a view it is difficult to envisage that you are only three miles for one of the largest towns in Fife, that is Kirkcaldy.
The property is suitable for two persons wishing a holiday or short stay in Fife.
Auchtertool is also convenient for travelling into Edinburgh or further afield being close to the main A92 road.
No complaints regarding the property, its location, or the host.

Our 3rd stay at East Wing as as ever it does not disappoint. The friendliness and approachability of the owner Margaret the fact she is extremely prompt in replying to enquiries and working with you to get the dates you require. The high standards of cleanliness still maintained and everything you need within East Wing. The location of Auchtertool village with regards proximity to the A92 10 minutes and the quietness of the said village.

My wife and myself stayed in the " East Wing ", 23rd December 2013 to 02nd January 2014. Margaret & Neil, the owners of East Wing, were very welcoming, and made sure we understood how to operate the facilties in the cottage. The cottage is very comfortably furnished and lacked for nothing in it's resources. It was our first time we had stayed in Fife and Margaret and Neil were most helpful in explaining where to see the sights of the area ( also shopping information - essential for our stay ). Whilst Margaret and Neil were always available, - either in person - or by mobile - , they respected our space - but, at the same time, ensuring that we had everything we needed. The area is very picturesque and has a wealth of history. We really enjoyed the hospitality of Margaret & Neil ( we have had so many lovely experiences in Scotland, the Scottish people are exceptional in their friendliness ) - and we look forward to having another holiday in the "" East Wing "" later this year.

Up from Wiltshire,Mary and I have just spent a very enjoyable second stay in the East Wing.
Its a good location with plenty to see and do in the area and if you need to just chill out, the private garden is a really nice place to spend some time in.
Margaret and Neil are lovely hosts and really made us feel at home. The accomodation is absolutely spotless, and the attention to detail is exellent, we can highly recommend a stay here.
It's sometimes difficult to find accomodation for just two people and this is just perfect.

Margaret is a very attentive host, who goes out of her way to make your stay very welcoming. The East Wing is a snug abode, very warm and welcoming and well proportioned, not to mention safe and secure, with ample car parking space. Attention to detail is clearly evident with all your needs fully catered for.

Having stayed here on a few occasions it never disappoints. The accommodation is clean, comfortable, quiet and is centrally located in Fife making it ideal for touring. Margaret the host and owner is very friendly, helpful and quick to assist and respond to any enquiries.

Glen Lyon was exactly what we wanted; comfortable, quiet and roomy accommodation for me and my 2 sons. It had absolutely everything we needed for our stay. Our host was kind enough to leave fresh milk for our arrival so we could make tea. There was enough dishwasher tablets and washing machine liquid for most of our stay (nb it's always nice when this is provided, though not expected) and plenty of towels etc. Our host was responsive and friendly (though not intrusive) via WhatsApp and gave us lots of locals tips. It's in an ideal location for outdoor activities, the coast and the cities. The garden is beautiful.

Having stayed in both properties they are both well maintained and cared for. Everything you need is within the properties. The locations are great for travel around Fife and beyond. Welcoming friendly owners nothing is to much trouble. Prompt in dealing with booking enquiries.
