This was an excellent workshop, with Chris Frost, a photographer local to the area, with a wealth of experience of where to be at the right time of day.

Chris was very patient with us all, guiding us to produce the best shots, with clear explanations of what small adjustments are needed to tweak our selected views, with tips we can carry forward whether we have all our gear with us, or just a mobile phone.

I would heartily recommend this or a similar workshop to those new to landscape photography, or simply wish to improve their skills.

My friend and I have just returned from a fantastic weekend away in the Lake District with Landscape Location Photo Tours.
Despite the challenging lighting conditions, Mel and Mal took the workshop to some wonderful locations, where lighting was not that much of an issue.
Mel and Mal's knowledge and love for landscape photography is unquestionable.
I strongly Landscape Locations to anyone who is interested in booking a photography workshop.

Well organised and friendly tour provided by Melvin and Chris. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and driving to all sites easily accommodated. Good introduction to the photo locations that Slovenia has to offer. Would definetly recommend and would go on future trips provided by Landscape Locations.

Just attended a weekend Landscape tour in Dorset, with Chris being the Lead.
What can you say?
Despite the flat and dull skies, Chris was very professional, knowledgeable and most helpful. Nothing was too much for him, and he looked after us very well.
Chris was always about and his interaction with us was wonderful indeed.
True gentleman.

I spent an amazing 4 days in the Lake District with Melvin leading the tour -his knowledge of the area is encyclopaedic -the weather was changing all the time and though we didn’t get any sunshine he knew all the right places to go even when there was flat lighting -he was great company during the workshop -always enthusiastic and happy to share his knowledge with all the group -accommodation in Windermere was spot on and whizzing around in the Mercedes 7 seater was a treat -highly recommended-booked on his Dolomites tour next year !

The September 2024 Tuscany Tour with Melvin Nicholson and assistants Phil and Alistair was a lot of fun and ticked all the boxes wrt the expected landmarks and vistas. And there were so many unexpected ones too. Melvin is a larger than life character and he certainly knows his way around Tuscany. His communication before and throughout the Tour was excellent.We had lots of laughs, heard lots of stories and I gained some useful technical and compositional skills along the way. For me photography is as much about the journey-being immersed in the landscapes, watching the sun rise and descend again and capturing and sharing all the experiences and in-between moments with others.The soft light and gently rolling landscapes are beautiful. Tuscany did not disappoint. Nor did Melvin.He even managed to call up some much anticipated mist on our last morning. So its five stars from me.

Slovenia Workshop 14th-20th October 2024

I’ve recently returned from a fantastic photography workshop in Slovenia. This is the first photography workshop that I have ever been on, and it certainly won’t be the last. I chose to go with Melvin, as I found his website to be very easy to navigate, and there was plenty of information that gave me confidence to book with him. I also found that due to the amount of videos he posts on social media, that it gave me a good idea of what type of person he was, and what to expect.
From the start of the workshop to the end, I felt that I was in great hands! Melvin and his assistant Chris were superb! They made sure that they got us to as many different locations that they could. They made excellent decisions on where to go based on the weather(which wasn’t great at times). I was particularly impressed with Melvin’s knowledge of the country. Not just for the photography, but for where we were taken for our evening meals each day(the restaurant on the last night was really special).
Another thing that I was really impressed with, was the tuition around woodland photography from Chris. Having previously struggled with woodland photography, he made time to ensure that myself and the whole group got the hints and tips they needed to come away with some great shots, and the capability to get more in the future!
The fact that we had a really great bunch of clients, as well as Melvin and Chris who were a brilliant laugh and just real decent people to have a conversation with, made the whole workshop that bit better!
Thank you Melvin and Chris for showing me this incredible country! I will definitely be visiting again, and will absolutely book another workshop with Landscape Locations in the future!
