Today is the first day of Autumn 🍂 22nd September.
Love this nature reserve.
The paths are brilliant, wheelchair friendly and wide so as a wheelchair user I'm happy 😊.
Steeped in history a & will find out more as it is fascinating.
From Winlaton Mill car park is the start of the Kite Trail those who are abled.
The Butterfly Bridge & the Lake my partner and I went to.
Very busy today, Sunday and in the Cafe.
A rice crispy cake and Cappuccino was £6.20 .
Has toilets 🚻
The car park is free and an ok size.

Lovely place to stop for a coffee and cake, and it can be very busy at times. Great place to go for a walk.

I have been a few times in the past and love this place, and the coffee shop. I also head to chopwell woods and thornley woodland. But I have completed a fantastic walk today the red kite trail is absolutely stunning, autumn time so the colours were vivid and the wild life on point 12 and a bit miles, took me just over 4 and half hours. One of the best walks I've ever done. Also staff were friendly and gave me a little guide to help. Only got lost once and it was my fault as you come out of Barlow you enter a farm turn right up the track.

A lovely place, but the cafe doesn't take cash. They ask for cash donations for printed materials like walk and cycle guides, they have a pot for cash tips, but don't accept cash payments. Really disappointing so we won't be returning to the cafe. Yes, banks charge to bank cash from a business, but they also charge for card machines, so what's the excuse for not accepting legal tender? Pay your staff in cash - legally - avoid all bank fees and reduce business costs!
