It should not take a total of 20 days to get hold of a member of staff to try and sort out an issue. Mega high cancellation fees, no customer service skills what so ever. Don't use this company, you will regret it. They wanted to try and charge £225 to cancel my policy, then come back with a figure of £70, how does that even make sense?

I wanted insurance for a car that I only use in the summer. Every quote I received was to a maximum of a 1 month. The quote I got from Lancaster wasn't much more for a whole year. I am well aware that if I take my car off the road I won't be entitled to a refund but it works well for me. The only criticism is that once I paid I couldn't check my documents immediately like with bigger firms. The portal documents were ready to view in the morning though.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Cancellation fee larger than the amount left to pay on the policy. Simply don’t renew.

This is an extortionist company, and the economy would be better off and its people more gainfully employed elsewhere, should this company go bust.

Excessive cancellations fees, awful customer service, automated phone lines that pass you from pillar to post. Had a "midterm adjustment" which meant when I went to cancel my policy due to my car being off the road for restoration it became more expensive to cancel the insurance than continue paying the final 4 direct debits. Having had many classic cars over the last 30 years I would highly avoid these and use Footman James or Hagerty, these guys are a joke.

i’ve been with lancaster classic car insurance for. 10 years. my car was stolen last year and they refused to pay me out. they said if they knew the area i lived in they would not of offered me cover. “ they did take 10 years of premiums thou “. the worst experience i’ve ever been through. totally set on worming there way out of paying out when or if the situation accurs. i strongly recommend you all find better cover elsewhere. this is from a customer of 10 years.

Not only do you have to go through a chat bot on the phone which is rubbish and take forever. They then charge £35 just to change a reg number back to its original one. The operator was nice but don't think Ill be wasting my money with them again

Avoid this company at all costs. Insured my Mk1 Golf less than 2 months ago, sold it, bought a mk2 and the premium they wanted me to pay was higher than a full year elsewhere. I then opted to cancel the policy and was charged almost the total cost of the policy which I paid at the start. Ridiculous.

Absolute garbage of a company. Over 2 hours sat waiting on the phone to insure a vehicle that I'd just purchased so I could drive it home. Then once I finally got insured it was twice the price of anywhere else. Save your time and money and go absolutely anywhere else
