Beautiful Heath lands to explore for hours on end. The heather is stunning. The wild ponies give it an exotic feel. There’s toilets and usually a coffee van that comes during peak times.

The main carpark and immediate area do get busy. There is a very clean river pool here, popular with families with young children. The rest of the reserve though, is a fabulous heathland/woodland. A variety of rare species can be seen here. There are a variety of walks from about a mile up to about 4 miles.

A piece of heaven. The drive there is a pleasant trip through Suffolk countryside and then you arrive at the site ....we parked on the roadside every time we've been as the shade keeps the vehicle cool. One is able to start the walk of different abilities with a coffee and perhaps a chocolate Then after a trip to the lavatory set off for a most pleasant walk. The first time we walked past the wear on the river , we were met with hundreds of dragonflies...the dark blue Damson dragonflies...such an awe inspiring display of the abundance of nature keeping in mind this was the start of Spring. There are horses in the fields and a few outside that are quite placid and we were able to walk up to them for a photo, the mushrooms on the ground were very interesting and plentiful. On the return to the main site we had an ice-cream and sat on the benches provided for an hour or so...you could pack a picnic as the river delighted the children having a frollick.
It's now a special place to take family on a walk and every time we've been, they were delighted for the fresh air with the sound of the river and happy children in the river nearby.
Highly recommended and appreciated.

Alot of people complained about parking and fines if you download the app and follow instructions it's not a problem.
We went twice this week did every trail and enjoyed it thoroughly. Our dogs were in heaven enjoying the smells sights and sounds. We seen loads of deer some as close as 10 ft away ponies grazing freely. Will definitely go back again next time we holiday that part of the country.
