We did an 8 day tour with Paul of King Tours Scotland late August to early September, this was our 2nd time touring with him. From the first inquiry about scheduling until he dropped us off back in Edinburgh, he was a pleasure to work with. We had a list of places we wanted to see including 3 days on Orkney Islands and he did an amazing job of making our dream trip a reality. We also loved the extra places he threw in along the way he thought we'd enjoy and love (and he was not wrong). Paul has a wealth of knowledge about Scottish history and shared so much with us during our time with him. We were also incredibly lucky to be able to celebrate his birthday with him. If you are looking for a personal and memorable tour that is tailored to your interests look no further because Paul will take care of you every step of the way.

We just finished a multi-day golf tour with King Tours Scotland, and it was absolutely outstanding. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organised and executed with genuine passion and professionalism. Paul was incredibly knowledgeable about local history, and also made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable.

Our itinerary was thoughtfully curated and our transportation was comfortable, punctual, and allowed us to soak in the stunning Scottish scenery between rounds.

If you're planning a golf trip in Scotland, I would look no further than King Tours—this is the gold standard. We'll absolutely be booking again.

We had an unforgettable private tour of Glencoe and the Scottish Highlands with Paul. From start to finish, everything was seamless, well-organized, and thoroughly enjoyable.

Paul’s deep knowledge of the area, combined with his engaging storytelling, brought the history and landscapes to life. He shared fascinating insights without ever overwhelming us with information, striking that perfect balance.

Traveling by private car allowed us the flexibility to explore at our own pace and access roads that larger tour groups couldn’t. Paul tailored the experience to our interests, making well-timed stops. (A shout-out to Mhor Bread and the Clachaig Inn!) He EVEN made a U-turn so we could get up close to some Hairy coos!

The scenery was breathtaking, and Paul made sure that we had plenty of time to take it all in. The tour was relaxed yet well-structured, making it a stress-free way to experience the Highlands.

Overall, this was the best of our trip. I’d highly recommend Paul to anyone looking for a well-planned, informative, and truly enjoyable private tour of the area.

Don’t tour Scotland without Paul! From the moment I contacted him, he was professional, helpful and always responded in a timely manner to any questions I had. He worked with me to create an itinerary based on what we wanted to see.
I cannot speak more highly of the 5 day tour of the Highlands my friends and I took with Paul. His knowledge of Scottish history helped bring to life all of the castles and beautiful places we visited, always leaving us with things to think about. He frequently suggested little stops off the beaten path that he thought we would all enjoy seeing, which we always loved.
Paul is funny, engaging and a proud Scotsman. He went out of his way for us more than once and was always happy to suggest a restaurant or local shopping. We all left with a love of Scotland and we will be recommending him to anyone we know traveling to Bonnie Scotland. Thank you Paul for giving us a tour of a lifetime. I cannot wait to return to see more of your beautiful country.

We cannot say enough good things about King Tours and Paul and Mike. From the planning stage - which we didn't make easy - but they did, to the trip itself, it was a five star experience! Thanks so much for such a fun, memorable, wonderful trip. We'd never met before, but feel like old time friends. We hope to come back and will be calling when we do.

This is a long overdue review. Christmas of 2019, I reached out to King Tours to plan a trip around the highlands for my family in the summer of 2020. Paul responded quickly and thoroughly despite the holiday season. He helped me refine our plan and tailored the tour to our interests which ranged from geologic to cultural to photographic. He also suggested modifications on the plan for my then 95 year old grandmother to be included in the sightseeing. He helped me find excellent accommodations across the highlands and Outer Hebrides. We were so excited for this well planned trip. Then the pandemic happened.

Paul was flexible, communicative, and gracious. He offered to refund our trip immediately. We decided that we wanted to postpone the trip rather than cancel it. We ended up postponing until summer of 2022. During this 2 year interval, Paul kept in touch and let me know of any necessary changes or closures. When my grandmother decided she was no longer up to travel, he adapted the plan again for the slightly younger group of my parents, my friend, and myself. All his emails were clear and friendly.

So after two and a half years, we finally visited Scotland for 3 weeks. Most of our time was spent in Edinburgh but the jewel at the center of the trip and everyone’s favorite part was the tour through the Highlands and the Inner and Outer Hebrides with Paul. As gorgeous and as interesting as everything we saw was, if you ask any one of us what the true highlight of the trip was, the universal answer would be Paul.

From the moment he picked us up in his clean and comfortable van to when he dropped us off back in Edinburgh a week later, Paul delighted us with his stories, conversation, and insights about every aspect of Scotland. You can tell he truly loves his country and without braggadocio will make you love it too. He knew every detail of the land we covered and answered all of our questions. He knew just when to stop for breaks or food. He adapted the day’s itinerary to our energy level and interests. We never felt rushed or bored. Also, his driving is excellent and we never felt unsafe.

While I am not usually a tour kind of traveler, I have been on a few excellent ones over the years from several trips to Morocco, to a few weeks in China, to two wonderful safaris in East Africa. The only guide among all my many trips who could hold a candle to Paul was my guide in Tanzania whom I liked so well that I made a second trip. When we eventually return to Scotland, we will definitely find some excuse to plan another tour with Paul. He truly is the best!

Whether you just want a half day tour around the city or if you want a week with someone you will not get tired of in the Highlands, you cannot go wrong with Paul King and King Tours.

We had the best day with Paul! He helped us create an itinerary that was exactly right for me, my husband and 2 daughters (9 and 11). He picked us up in Edinburgh and took us to Stirling Castle, then to see some Roman ruins and hairy coos, then introduced us to the village of Pitlochry and finally, took us for a beautiful walk in the woods to a waterfall and hermitage. It was wonderful getting to know Paul and experience some of this beautiful country with him-- thank you for a day we'll never forget!!

I cannot recommend King Tours Scotland more. If you love history there is no better than Paul to bring it to life while traveling thru one of the most beautiful places on earth, his love of his country shines! My family and I have used King Tours Scotland multiple times, from a day tour to St Andrews all the way to a full 7 day tour thru the Highlands and Isle of Skye. Paul is polite, prompt, extremely knowledgeable and pleasantly flexible to your needs to have the perfect tour.

Update: just came back from another 4 day tour and again had an amazing time with Paul. We went to some new places and of course some old faithfuls.
