We travelled on the John Pinkerton to Odiham castle 2.5 hours in total. Such a relaxing time. The staff are very welcoming and friendly with plenty of knowledge if you have any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

Lovely trip on the canal near Odiham. We did the cruise out to the Barley Mow pub and the walk back. We did the 3 mile walk in about 1 hour but many take a slower pace and amble along. The tow path is well made of compacted earth and stones but there are trip hazards such as tree roots. We set off at 10.30am and a ploughman's lunch of cheese, ham, salad, apple, pickle and bread was served about 12 noon. Hot and cold drinks including wine are available for extra from the bar. Also available are snacks and souvenirs. We were a party of 5 with 2 who were allergic to nuts and Sue, who organises and prepares the food couldn't have been more helpful. The volunteers are very friendly and helpful. We were kept informed by Roger who knows everything there is to know about that stretch of the river. We stopped for a lovely drink in the Barlow Mow's beer garden and saw a wonderful display of Red Admirals. A wonderful day out with grown up family. I would recommend these theme trips with the John Pinkerton boat and the lovely volunteers.

Fabulous trip today on Basingstoke canal. Trip took 2 hours. Able to get off half way to view Odiham Castle remains. They serve hot and cold drinks, snacks like crisps and bars. Really enjoyable afternoon.

Lovely afternoon on the canal. The staff were friendly and informative. The boat was excellent, with onboard galley serving hot and cold drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. Pleasant and relaxing just gliding along letting modern life pass you by. Looking forward to returning and hopefully heading east next time. Thank you.

A pleasant enough cruise on the canal but not as interesting or picturesque as l hoped. The view from inside the long boat is rather restricted as you are rather low in the water so the best position is at the front of the boat where you can watch the world slowly go by. Wouldn’t do it again.
