Mere words will never do Helen justice. She was our guide for a week-long tour in Scotland and took us to places we didn’t even know we needed to see! Her wit and humor, as well as her passion for her country bleed into every conversation, leaving you with no other choice but to fall in love with the country yourself. Looking for the best shops? She’ll point you in the right direction. Fascinated by the history or agricultural practices of the land? She is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. Looking for something off the beaten path? Helen’s got you covered. She also knows where all the best bathrooms are (a very important quality in a tour guide)! More than all that, Helen is a joy to be around and truly made my trip to Scotland one of the best experiences of my life!

In case you don’t want to read the entire review, I will start with this. Infinite Scotland, Helen and her team are amazing. If you want personalized planning and an amazing tour of Scotland, I will highly recommend them.
I Contacted Infinite Scotland with just a basic idea of what I wanted to do on our trip to Scotland. Helen first started helping me with ideas of what to do and then over the course of a few emails refined it to what we were looking for. She then presented me with a draft itinerary and additional ideas of things to do. We went back to her with more ideas and incorporated some of her additional suggestions, ending up with a wonderful final itinerary.
We started our first day of touring on 18 August 2024. Tim met us at our hotel promptly at the agreed upon time and we spent the next four days touring Scotland with Tim. Tim was fun and knowledgeable. It was obvious he knew his Scottish history and knew his way to all the hidden gems we would have never seen on our own. Beautiful landscapes, waterfalls rivers and gardens. We had three distillery tours, a cruise on Loch Ness, toured Blair Castle, Culloden Battlefield and visited Rosslyn Chapel. Over these four days we were based out of Inverness, which is a beautiful place with great restaurants and fun places to shop and visit. We would leave each morning for touring returning to our VRBO in the evenings.
We ended up back in Edinburgh and the next day we were met by Ruth for a day of walking and touring Edinburgh and Edinburgh castle. She was an absolutely amazing and knowledgeable guide with a great personality. Showing us parts of the city associated with J. K. Rowling and Harry Potter showing us things that I had absolutely no clue of.
Although no guide with us the last two days of our tour Helen had still made dinner reservations and a few other reservations of things we wanted to do. Which made our last two days worry free and fun.
I could go on and on about Ruth and Tim but let's just say this, they both were amazing, and I could not have asked for more.

Helen worked with me over a several month period to advise me on a custom trip I planned with my family over Christmas and New Year. She was excellent partner - gave useful advice on where to go and what to do with the time we had, including pointing us toward multiple "hidden gems," was thoughtful and thorough and even went above and beyond several times in helping me to make bookings when I was unable to do so on my own from outside the country. My husband and I did a 4 day tour through the Highlands with Helen and it was wonderful. Prior to the trip, we had a few Zoom calls to discuss what we like to do on vacation and what we were hoping to see in Scotland. She then planned an itinerary that was perfect, even suggesting hotels and restaurants for our nightly stops. From the moment she picked us up, she was warm, funny and full of Scottish history and folklore. We saw so many things we wouldn’t have found on our own. She was wonderful about keeping us on track, but we never felt rushed. If we are ever fortunate enough to return to Scotland, we will defintely ask for Helen's guidance.

My parents were coming to visit me from the states and I wanted to make sure to show them a great time while they were visiting. I reached out to Helen unsure of what really to expect from a private tour and from the beginning she was extremely warm and friendly. I really felt like she made it her number one goal that not only that we had an amazing time but to make sure that it was also personally tailored for us. She really allowed us to relax and enjoy everything about the trip. She also brought lovely and thoughtful welcome gifts with tastes of Scotland. We ended up just inviting her along to join us with most of our meals because she was just such a lovely person to be around. Really couldn't recommend Helen more as she was extremely knowledgable about the history and the environment and really provided a first-class experience.

Highly recommend Infinite Scotland to see and learn about this beautiful country. Helen and Tim were fantastic at both planning and executing our tour from Edinburgh, through quaint fishing villages, St. Andrew's, the highlands, Isle of Skye, and Oban. We learned a ton of Scottish history, toured castles, learned about ancient stone circles and standing stones, and ate at the best restaurants across the country. We greatly prefer small local tour companies like Infinite Scotland as they were willing and able to customize our agenda and even adapted the timing of some sites based on the hourly forecasts for rain!
