We stayed here in July 2022, during the hottest week of the summer. Our room upstairs was next to the boiler which seemed to throw out a lot of heat, making our room even hotter.
The area is lovely and there is much to see and experience. Alton is not too far away, and I would recommend The Rose and Crown for a pub meal, only 5 minutes away.
There are also lovely walks in the area, and one circular route we discovered goes along an old railway line, and part of the Writer's Way.
One member of our family is disabled and we found that that the accommodation in the Middletown lodge was ideal for our requirements. There is a ramp leading up to the lodge, and the wet room for showers was excellent. (Picture attached)
I would be happy to recommend this place for a nice relaxing stay.

Stayed here for a week and although the actual accommodation was pretty nice, the people who run it have a large dog which isn’t properly trained and very aggressive towards smaller dogs. It attacked our dog completely unprovoked and we had to wrestle it off with our hands. Because this occurred during the first year of our dog’s life he was severely traumatised and has been terrified of large dogs ever since. The fact that they don’t keep this aggressive dog on a lead and let it roam around the parking area shows a serious disregard for the safety and well-being of their guests. Would not recommend.

We hired this place for a family (18 & 5 dogs) party & we could not have asked for anything more. There are so many things for the children to do. We were in walking distance to pubs. Numerous walks. The cottages had everything you need. Lots of space & in excellent condition. A grate place to be.

Staying here for 3 months while our extension is built. So peaceful holiday he's are clean, facilties are perfect and work really well . Has everything you could need and only 5 minutes away from the nearest town

4 bedroom but not one working shower cubicle. There was a shower in one of the baths but this didn’t have a shower curtain so was very difficult to use.
