Not a place I was bothered about visiting.... how wrong could I be? A beautiful picturesque holiday town. Nice little harbour and very clear sea's. Grab yourself a nice little boat trip while your there. Went on a lovely 2hr coastal trip on the yellow catamaran boat. Plenty of food places to eat. Call in and see the life boat while you're there. Very friendly staff and crewmen, had a laugh and nice chat with them. Don't forget to pop some money in their box... all in a good cause.

A quaint old harbour filled with an interesting variety of boats and fishing vessels. Nice to wander around the cafes and small shops or sit and take in the view whilst enjoying a break. There's also an interesting statue from Damien Hurst towering above the visitors to the harbour. Enjoyed my visit.

Visited yesterday when the sun was shining which made the sea look lovely and blue. A couple small beaches where dogs can swim or dig in the sand. Various shops, pubs & eateries around the town & harbour some with lovely views looking over the water. Various boats in the harbour making it a very picturesque setting. Plenty of parking, or as we did, regular buses.

Lovely little town in North Devon. Stunning views of the coastline and lot of coastal walking paths. It’s a lively and feel good place. There are trips to Lundy island from the harbour however pre booking might be necessary.

Nice harbour with fish & chip shop, of course, plus gift shops and plenty of ice cream. Took a 2 hour boat trip which was good and managed to see seals on the way back. Boat trip goes as far as Lynton & Lynmouth. You can see a waterfall and the Valley of the Rocks along the way

Quite a small costal town, making it easy to get around & see everything on offer.
We had a mid-week short break here & made this our base from which to explore further afield.
We spent our last full day in Ilfracombe itself & enjoyed the scenic walks, harbour visit, hilly climbs and a town & seafront moochy. We were lucky that the weather was glorious the whole time, both sunny & warm.
There is plenty to suit all, but not enough to fill a week (or longer) holiday visit. We came during term time, so it was very quiet, just what we wanted.

Peaceful Visit to Ilfracombe Harbour

We had a lovely family trip to Ilfracombe Harbour, enjoying chips on the beach and visiting the Verity statue. It was peaceful, with families crabbing and plenty of people fishing off the harbour. Many shops and restaurants were closed due to the Christmas holidays, which added to the quiet atmosphere.

There are free public toilets, though they weren’t the cleanest. The aquarium, which includes a café, is located here as well. We saw lots of advertisements for fishing trips, but unfortunately, none were running during this period. Despite that, we really enjoyed the tranquility of the harbour.

Would recommend for a relaxing stroll and some fresh sea air!

Great place to visit and fun fishing spots for the kids. Some lovely restaurants and pubs to visit. There is also stalls where you can book boat trips.
