The Huskyan team sets a higher standard for boat diving in general, and diving in Scapa Flow specifically. Both the boat and accommodation are spotless and very comfortably fitted to divers’ needs. Emily always goes the extra mile with extra large comfy towels, bread and jam already waiting for you at the house, hot chocolate/tea/coffee after every dive and the most amazing home-baked goods. She is a master at listening to and foreseeing what people need to make their dive trip feel like a real holiday. On top of that, the Huskyan team has gathered a group of highly intelligent and talented people around them to gain in-depth knowledge about the wrecks you will be diving. Like no other, Emily can make sense of 100-year-old partly decayed wrecks and tell you exactly what to look for, which unique features are found on each wreck, what they used to look like, what they were used for, etc. The historic knowledge is conveyed to you by multibeam 3D models, photogrammetry, pictures, videos, historic building plans etc until you know exactly what you are looking at and where to find it under water. When you go to the Scapa Flow museum and you find the images used there are the exact same you see on the boat, and the voice-over in the museum footage is your skipper’s, you know you have booked with the right charter. Lastly, the diving safety and service on the Huskyan is of prime quality, with gas fills for whichever gas you want, a potential for unlimited bottom times, crew members on deck helping you get in the water in your winter gear comfortably, a dive lift to get you out again and a solid safety plan in place to monitor all the different kinds of diving. We booked 5 days diving with the Huskyan with sleeping accommodation number 15. I can really recommend this boat everything was so good organized. Very good place to prepare your equipment and very good accommodations inside the boat. Every day very delicious soup with cake for lunch. Nice and warm room to change. Nothing negative to mention. The staff on the boat is really helpful and they give very detailed the briefings with 3D images from the wrecks. They mention all the details and where to find them so you can spend all your bottom time right. The number 15 accommodation has everything you need. Its all spick and span and very comfortable rooms. This trip is on my top 5 of dive trips in my life and if we would ever come back we will choose for the Huskyan again!

Comfortable and well maintained place to stay. We stayed here while we were out diving on the Huskyan dive boat. Both the accommodation and the boat are excellent. Emily is extremely knowledgeable about the wrecks around Scapa and ensured we all had an excellent trip. Have dived with many boats around scapa and Emily and the huskyan are the best we have used.

The best way to dive the wrecks of Scapa Flow! I just returned from a week diving from the Huskyan with Emily and her fantastic crew. I highly recommended using these guys for anyone who is considering diving Scapa Flow. Emily's local knowledge and detailed description of each of the wrecks is second to none. And the boat is extremelly well designed and accomodating for all types of divers. I'll be back!

Absolutely fantastic time diving in Scapa Flow with Huskyan Charters.
Where to start
The lodge was top class accommodation for our group. Spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. Truly a home away from home for the week..
The Huskyan is clearly a dive boat designed by a diver. Sparkling clean and first class condition. Everything on board is really well organised and set out, plenty of room for our group to kit up get in and out of the water and Duncan and Antonia making it as easy as getting in and out with twins and stages is ever going to be.
Dive orientations were the best; Emily is clearly passionate and extremely knowledgeable regarding the wrecks in the flow; spending many many hours researching and documenting the history of each and every vessel. This made orientation sessions really informative and included good visuals and pic's of the wrecks which made it easier to make sense of what we were seeing on the sea bed. Emily also tailored the information for all levels of divers (as we are a mixed group of ability and experience) to make sure we all had great dives.
And the surface interval refreshments! While the info on the charter web site says you can take a packed lunch be assured you won't need one! Home made soup and bakes that are second to none.
Absolutely the premier charter to go to if you want to dive Scapa.

I've dived Scapa on six separate trips, three of these are with Emily.

I won't dive Scapa on any other boat. I've brought three groups of divers onto Radiant Queen/ Huskyan and every time they are amazed at the standards and all want to come back.

Best dive briefings: Everybody gets so much more from their dives because they really understand what's on the wrecks.
Best food: Everybody enjoys the amazing food on board and enjoy their second dive after such a good meal.
Best Accommodation. I've done the dark, damp Scapa liveaboards and won't do them again. All the groups that stay in the divers lodge (included in the cost) say how much more energetic they are each morning and how much more they enjoy diving after a great nights sleep.
Best boat. The Huskyan is the only purpose built (to my knowledge) boat operating around Scapa. It's designed by divers, for divers with every small detail taken care of.

I don’t normally do reviews but I feel I need to, I was aboard the Huskyan from the 7th of may to the 12th 2023 the quality of the boat and layout was unbelievable so well designed for divers and the pre dive presentation was amazing extremely detailed with 3D images of wreck and key locations to view, it made the dive so easy and rewarding, the accommodation was spotless and of a very high standard, staff was brilliant and Emily has knocked it out of the park regarding the high level of standards, no other character could possibly match this, if you’re booking a boat for Scapa this one is number 1 I’ll be back as soon as I can, thank you Emily for awesome week, the egg guy 👍
