The experience of my student groups with this company's homestay families on Jan/Feb 2024 are :
1)You need to be prepared to wait outside until 6 pm because your homestay owner needs to work until very late time, the company asked the students to wait outside in the street even the students under 13 years old ;
2) You will be charged full price for the marks in the drawer, the company emergency service staff warned that the homestay owner can force your students to leave the house if you don't pay for the brand-new replacement fee(the drawer has been used for 21 months )- even if the students are under 13 years old ;
3) Your cake can be eaten by the homestay families
' child - the company told you that it was your fault because you didn't label your food, but nobody in the host family tells you how to do so ;
4) You need to pay 60 pounds per student or 30 pounds per student with groups ( 30 or 40 students in each group ) as a service fee, but, most time, you can not get support after 4 pm or before 9:45 am, the company told us that the emergency support only deals with " death linked " issues, not any others ;
Unfortunately, most issues happened in the evening time, after 6 pm, with all host families were at home with students - therefore, all students staying with host families time are not in the company's normal working hours.
In summary, maybe only money-hungry people in Cambridge do homestays, with no service, and no support on most time.
Until today, We are still under one sue case with students whose parents suspect the host families' qualifications and honesties.
