This hotel has the potential to be great.

From the moment I checked in, the staff were incredibly accommodating especially when I requested a non-feather pillow, which they sorted without fuss. Everyone was friendly and helpful. One of the bar staff had a bit of an edge to him, but still managed to make me smile, so no complaints there.

The food was amazing, with very generous portions. However, I would suggest rethinking the air-conditioning in the restaurant, you really have to pick your spot carefully to stay comfortable.

The rooms (and particularly the stairway to the downstairs ones) are a bit outdated. While the carpet and beds were lovely, the radiators and bathroom fixtures had quite a bit of rust, and the chair in the room had a questionable stain that didn’t inspire much confidence.

Breakfast was great. I usually just have fruit and yogurt, but everything else looked lovely as well.

Would I stay here again? Hell yeah!

Picked this hotel on merit and was looking to a nice evening away. Positives - staff are polite, friendly and welcoming and the hotel was clean and modern in the reception/bar area. ||Negatives - we asked for a room with a walk in shower and Liv the receptionist kindly checked a room and allocated us room 308. The bed was damaged with piece of duck tape covering a hole and the wheels were broken. One of the bedroom walls had damage near to the skirting board and wallpaper not maintained, another f the other walls had scuff marks and paint on the back of the room door handle. ||We decided to order from the bar and placed an order at 19:45pm a full hour later and no sign of the food I asked about our order and was given a free drink (for myself) and nothing for my wife who was dining with me. Food was delivered and I asked to see the duty manager.. her response was “you can’t see what’s going on behind the scenes, a chef has called in sick and they have another function on.. all well and good but no apology, she offered to sort something out as we had paid by card. She never returned that evening and never said anything when we saw her at breakfast. ||On the plus side the food was good when it arrived. ||In check out the receptionist explained that the issues with the room were down to the fact that they are waiting for a refurbishment.

We recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, creating a pleasant first impression. The lobby was clean and modern, and the breakfast selection was excellent — plenty of variety and good quality.

The pool facilities were decent, though nothing particularly standout. Unfortunately, the room was a letdown. It felt quite dated, and both the double bed and sofa bed were among the most uncomfortable we’ve encountered during any hotel stay.

Dinner at the hotel restaurant was also disappointing — overpriced for what turned out to be mediocre food. The drink selection was quite limited as well, which didn’t help the overall dining experience.

Overall, while the service and breakfast were strong points, the comfort of the room and quality of the evening dining experience left much to be desired.

Stayed here as we were exhibiting at an event here so it was convenient and we got a good Dinner B&B deal. Enjoyed using the swimming pool both evenings but it does get rather busy. Due to the deal we ate in the restaurant both evenings, the food was good and can recommend the fish and chips. Choice is a bit limited due to the deal we got. The bar area got noist as there were functions on.

My first stay at Holiday Inn and what a hugely enjoyable stay it was! The rooms are bright, immaculate, serviced daily and with welcome extra touches..eg boxed tissues, quality toilet paper and soft towels.
Food and drinks were good.
The staff there are A*, so friendly and helpful. Special thanks go to Kathy, Andrea, Phil, Ben, Mike and Tina 🤗. Oh, and the breakfast is to die for! Huge selection of whatever you fancy.
Will DEFINITELY be back..thanks guys!

We stayed here for a family weekend/birthday break and was very happy with our stay. First wanted to thank you to Kathy on reception who after finding out the reason for our stay provided some little touches for not only our birthday girl but also including her brother in feeling just as special and welcomed. Secondly to Adel in the restaurant who continued to make both kids feel valued the food was lovely and great value for money, the only issue was my burger took quiet awhile to come out but this was again was taken care of by Adel. Our room was clean and had everything we needed tho should have been for 3 people we had no troubles for space with 2 adults, 12 year and a 6 year old. We will 100% stay here again

Stayed with my son for 2 nights for visits to Liverpool, ideal location as we caught the train to Lime Street and its close to the motorway.
We used the indoor pool twice, no issues it was clean and warm. Our room was tidy, comfortable and quiet and breakfast buffet was as expected, had no issues during our stay.
We stayed on floor 5, the far end looking towards trees.

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting the area. While it was reasonably priced and well located for what we wanted, it was not as good as we'd expect for a Holiday Inn. In general the hotel is run down (inside and out) with dirty paintwork & threadbare carpets in the corridors and there was damage to one of our bedroom walls and the aircon couldn't be adjusted. While the bedroom and ensuite was smart, modern and clean, they were more cramped (and only had a double bed) while other similar hotels are more spacious and have king sized beds. Service was repeatedly slow at reception and in the restaurant but otherwise staff were friendly. The health club is open to the public and hotel guests and was ok but compact. When we were there the jacuzzi was out of order on one night and there were no adult only periods (that we were aware of) and it was noisy with young children, so not particularly relaxing.
