Nice room with 2 double beds. The bathroom was clean but there were staines on the carpet. |The air conditioning was prefixed to 21 degrees and we could not move it lower but the room was cool. |The sheets were clean and we had adequate towels. |There were dove hand wash, shampoo and body wash available. |Breakfast was adequate.|There’s a petrol station by the hotel, but you’d need a car to get around town because it’s about 20 mins from the city centre.|If you join the hotel group you get free parking.

The staff get all the stars. They were very very accommodating and i loved that they have little bags at the breakfast bar available so you can grab your breakfast and go if you need to leave early, like we did.

Beds were comfortable and room clean.

It felt like i received value for money for the first time in a long time. Well done to the team of this Holiday Inn. Thank you for making our stay very pleasant.

We stayed one night for the Ed Sheeran Concert at Ipswich Town Football Club. We arrived 2 hours prior to check in on the off chance to get an early check in and we only waited 10 minutes for our room to be ready. The staff were all friendly, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Each guest going to the concert was given a bag with water, chocolate and snacks to eat whilst queuing to go in, which was such a lovely thoughtful touch. The room was modern, clean, bedding clean, bed extremely comfortable and couldn’t fault it. We had a meal in the restaurant prior to heading to the concert which was very tasty and reasonably priced. We had a lovely nights sleep. Shower was lovely and plenty of towels. The only slight issue is the hairdryer in the room was old, extremely noisy and difficult to hold due to vibration. I was worried the noise from the hairdryer would wake people in rooms either side as it was so loud, possibly could do with an upgrade. Breakfast was lovely. Staff worked really hard keeping tables clear. Special mention to staff member Kate who was so friendly during our stay. She was welcoming on arrival and the morning we left she made a point of coming to talk to us to see how we’d enjoyed the concert. She’d pointed us in the right direction for our son to purchase an Ipswich Town football shirt. Kate even gave info on local EV charging points for our car as the hotel doesn’t have one. Definitely a hidden gem which we’d return to. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Wow !!!! Better than the hilton. Rooms clean, dinner available on site . And free. Breakfast!!!!! And a Bar !!!!
U do have to pay for parking 😒... but £9.00 from 5pm to 9am isn't bad at all.
We travelled from Cornwall stop over ... will definitely stay again if up that way ...

Stopped here for a night with my partner and disabled son. We arrived to a cheerful welcome at the reception desk.

The staff here are extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Particularly my downs syndrome son. Who was totally charmed. We had an evening meal at the hotel and enjoyed it. And the breakfast certainly didn't disappoint either.

Stayed here for three nights, friendly welcome on arrival and a pleasant atmosphere in general. Room was clean and tidy as was the bathroom and toilet. Breakfast was excellent with all one could want. Staff in general were warm ,friendly and efficient. My one criticism was the phone charger points and the power points above had no power to them and did not work at all so had to use the power point next to the floor near the door which is probably generally used for vacuuming. I reported the matter on my first day to reception and as far as i could see was made a note of, unfortunately the issue was not fixed over the course of my three day stay even after it being mentioned again to reception.

I was astonished when reading the negative reviews for this hotel as it was nothing like what was mentioned. I can only assume that those reviews were placed by parties with a grudge against this hotel. As for the person complaining about the parking, a charge of 8gbp applies is mentioned on the website (& has since last year when we were first looking at this hotel),|Anyway, with the hotel being close to the A12 I was quite surprised at how quiet the room was. Room was extremely clean, fittings up to date & the bedding was marvellous giving my wife & I a great night sleep. |Breakfast the next morning was probably the best that we have had in an IHG in England in a long time (even better that some of the Hilton's that we normally stay in).|Front desk staff were very accommodating & we were made to feel welcome.|We will definitely be staying here again when next back in the UK next year.

We booked a night here prior to visiting the nearby Colchester Zoo. There is plenty of parking outside, though having to pay for it despite the hotel being in the middle of nowhere seemed cheeky! Reception team were friendly, efficient and helpful. Room 43 was on the ground floor just along from reception, and faced out to the entrance of the hotel. It was spotlessly clean with really comfy beds, and the shower was amazing. The desk and walls showed some signs of wear and the carpet in the corridor outside our room was a bit bunched up so could present a trip hazard. ||Breakfast was included with our booking - there was a really good selection of cold food (pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit, bread), hot food (beans, sausages, bacon, tomatoes, hash browns and scrambled eggs) and even a pancake machine! Hot drinks were good, fruit juice tasted a bit strange. There were takeaway cups available for hot drinks if you wanted. There was water available but near the entrance to the dining area, not near the other drinks. ||We paid £76 for our booking which we felt was really good value for money. I would have no problem staying here again if in the area.
