Excellent check in - well appointed rooms and clean - I’d also like to add a shout out to maintenance - the hotel is in pristine condition - so many light bulbs for example and not one out ! …. One of the best exec lounges I’ve ever been in ( and diamond for Hilton I see my fair share ) Siju was superb in looking after us ! And Shubhi in the restaurant manning the bar … my only complaint was the awesome bar called Brewary was closed for a private event so had to have a beer in the restaurant which was dead with no atmosphere other than Shubhi checking in which was super good … I get the the Pharma company had probably booked most of the hotel but wasn’t ideal… that said at 22.00 Shubhi said I could go back to the main bar as the private event had ended and then Unis did an amazing job looking after the guests and made me feel very welcome ! As did Shubhi … it’s very easy to complain when things aren’t great and I’m in customer service and I have to say everyone I met were a credit to the hotel… even being offered a glass of chilled water at checkin ! Well done Hilton Bankside - a great hotel , location and team that I feel put the guest first !

The location of this hotel is brilliant, the rooms are spacious.

The gym is good for a hotel gym and the pool was clean.

Offered prosecco on arrival which was a nice touch.

Whilst not having children, its certainly a family friendly hotel, lots of happy families and they offer free sweets at the reception.

Problems:

The bed was very "springy"

The hotel has construction work going on, had I known I would have stayed at Sea Containers where I had a much better stay previously.

We had to remind staff to have our room cleaned after we returned from visiting Borough Market and the South Bank. When it was cleaned. The water and coffee was not replaced.

The view from our room was dark and was off scaffolding.

It definitely doesn't feel like a 5 star hotel and I would not stay here again. Its the first time I have stayed somewhere and not understood why there are so many good reviews.

This is a hidden gem for families and adults alike. We stayed for a week and were very impressed, as the rates were very reasonable for the space and amenities. People don't usually think about Southwark as a location because it's not right in the heart of the action in London, but this is actually a plus to have a quiet but incredibly accessible spot. Please read below for details of all the various superb amenities.

The staff were all exceedingly helpful and engaged with kids to make sure they felt comfortable and had fun. They were willing to provide help if needed, but weren't overly intrusive. They always said hello and had a smile, and thanked us for staying with them. It's a small thing, but a nice thing to see familiar faces and know they also recognized you.

Overall, this was a masterful hotel for us. I would come again without hesitation. Kudos to Hilton, this is a great hotel!

***IMPORTANT NOTE: As of August 2025 the hotel is undergoing renovations to add additional floors to the building. There is scaffolding around the building, and some construction noise from 9-5. However, there was zero indication inside the hotel of any renovation other than the noise, and we didn't really notice because we were not present during the daytime. Just be aware, as it's likely to last into 2026.

As a Hilton Diamond member, I’ve stayed at many Hilton properties, and my experience at Hilton Bankside was overall very good. The location is excellent, close to many London attractions, and the staff were consistently warm, professional, and attentive. The service truly reflects the Hilton standard, and the team here works hard to make guests feel welcome.||I was pleased with the comfort and design of the room, but I did notice that the sheets and towels had an unusual odor, which took away from the otherwise high standard of the stay. While not a major issue, I feel this is an important detail to improve—especially for loyal members who expect the best consistency across Hilton hotels.||Overall, I would recommend Hilton Bankside for its great staff, service, and location, and I look forward to staying again once the linen issue has been addressed.

We had an absolutely wonderful brunch at Hilton London Bankside! From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel incredibly welcomed. A huge thank you to our fantastic servers Zain, Yordan, and Lutfur, along with Sayyed, whose warm hospitality set the tone for the entire experience.

The food was outstanding – beautifully prepared by Chef Moshin, Chef Trover, and Chef Ali. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, from the breakfast classics to the inventive specials. The presentation was just as impressive as the taste, and it was clear how much care went into each plate.

The atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, and the attentive service ensured we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. It was the perfect combination of delicious food, friendly faces, and a welcoming environment.

Hilton Bankside truly delivered a five-star brunch thanks to this incredible team. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful hotel in the heart of London.
Friendly staff who take care of everything and are always there for you.
The hotel rooms are spacious with large, comfortable beds.
The breakfast is very varied and delicious.

Probably 4.5* if that were an option. I’ve stayed here three times — two excellent stays and one poor one, thanks to a rude man at check-in who went out of his way to make things difficult. Thankfully, the ladies on reception are fantastic and welcoming, and once I escalated the complaint, the manager ensured my next stay was great, which I appreciated.

Highlights:
• Fantastic location, minutes from South Bank and the Tate Modern
• Excellent executive lounge with great food and drinks
• Good air conditioning
• Great pool area and one of the better hotel gyms
• Mostly welcoming reception staff (especially one lady, though I didn’t catch her name)

Areas for improvement:
• Standard rooms are small, dark, and gloomy; even the “junior suite” we were given by the rude receptionist felt the same
• Some rooms only have a shower-over-bath with a curtain, not a walk-in shower, which you’d expect at an upmarket Hilton. Luckily I was in suites so had bath and shower.
• Breakfast quality and temperature are inconsistent
• Jacuzzi isn’t heated, just pool temperature
• And, again, the rude guy on reception

Great 5 night stay at the Hilton Bankside. Easy access to train stations and walkable to the touristy areas. This is a great spot for a quieter, less touristy vibe. Tons of local pubs, and Borough Market is quite close. The staff were amazingly friendly. There is some construction noise during the week. As Hilton Diamond members we had access to the lounge where there were always drinks, and they serve food every evening. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant was also included every morning. Highly recommend!!
