Attended an events evening through business, and stayed overnight in this hotel. As a rule I normally book a Premier Inn for business, but as the event was at this hotel the accommodation was included. Is it better than Premier Inn? Absolutely, yes. The room and facilities are far superior, albeit the bathroom was pretty dated and my shower wasn't at all good in room 3007. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and having an iron and ironing board was a real help. Tea and coffee was good being Yorkshire Tea and Taylors coffee bags, which makes a nice change from Nescafe and PG Tips! The dinner was typical function food, and as such as expected, very average. However, the breakfast is the best breakfast offering I've seen in a UK hotel. Every type of pastry, fruits, yogurts, continental with hams and cheese and the usual cooked offering. Staff were friendly and efficient and the hotel seems very well ran. Drinks are expensive, £15.50 for two pints. All in all a very good 4 star hotel. The hotel is ideally located for Birmingham International Rail and airport and the NEC. Uber was around 7 mins to International and £5.50.

The rooms are a bit dated and the elevator sounds like a prop from a horror film but the amenities are first class. The hotel is old but makes up for its age in charm and experience. Located on a lake, and a mall directly across, the views are exemplary and the rooms are actually very nice. Full gym , pool, executive lounge and huge dining space makes this place really stand out.

I had an excellent stay at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, but what stood out most was the outstanding service from Danny at reception. I lost my iPhone charger before a conference and was panicking as my train ticket was on my phone. Danny not only came with me to check my room, but when we couldn’t find it, he kindly put my phone on charge for me so I wouldn’t be stuck. While I was in my conference, he went back to the room himself, did a thorough search, and actually found my charger.

That level of care and initiative was above and beyond anything I expected. Thanks to Danny, I was able to relax and focus on my day knowing I’d get home safely. He is an absolute credit to the hotel - professional, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful. The rest of the staff were also friendly, the food was excellent, and the service overall was first class. But a huge thank you to Danny in particular - he really made my experience

What an incredible hotel. Not only was the room perfect with a lovely view of the water, the staff here were incredible. The manager lady hosting at breakfast was very personal and made me feel very welcomed as a solo traveller. The bar staff were all very friendly too given you more of an experience. Will definitely be back to stay when I travel past this way.

Place is really great! We had an awesome view of the lake from the window and the kind staffs especially Abud the manager. We have the access from exec lounge and you can do gym and swim. We, Family and friend had a great time spent when we are there!!

I recently stayed at the Hilton and was very pleased overall. The room was extremely comfortable and made for a relaxing stay. The convention center was also excellent – spacious, modern, and very well-suited for professional events.

My only downside was breakfast. While the variety of food was impressive and everything looked great, most items were barely warm – including the coffee, eggs, and sausages. A bit more attention to keeping things hot would really elevate the experience.

Still, a solid stay and I would definitely consider coming back.

Stayed here for 4 nights in the penthouse suite. Whilst a nice hotel overall with a big lobby and good bar. The room service is not great as we were told staff were not allowed to come into rooms so we had to collect all food at our own door.

Now here is the main issue with my stay, despite us informing them that there was no power to the tv in the bedroom for the entirety of our stay - they sent a handyman to come and take a look one time and then gave up trying to fix it. The night time manager offered my family and I free breakfast delivered to our room (we are a family of 4) - when i called for the breakfast to be delivered i was told it wad just 1 plate - I don’t agree with this - what are 4 people going to do with 1 plate of breakfast? I told them to leave it - i could not be bothered to explain myself again like i did to the night time manager. The next day i went for a quick dinner by myself (not even with the family) only to be told that although the meal was free they wanted me to pay for my soda water and lime. The whole thing was frustrating and i have waited to share my true experience until now. I ended up tipping the polite chap who served me a tenner which is more than the meal - it was never about the money for me, it was a matter of the hotel not communicating between themselves clearly enough and then having the cheek to tell me what was and was/not included in the freebie. If you are booking the penthouse suite, make sure you ask them to check that everything is in working order first. Really disappointing overall, they could have done a little bit more to win me over but nobody cared enough to do so.

For this to happen in the most expensive suite and to your highest paying customer is not good enough.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Hilton Birmingham Metropole! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable.

We were also touched by the Guest Relations Manager, who went out of their way to surprise us with a warm and heartfelt anniversary wish. It made our celebration even more memorable!

Huge thanks as well to the Housekeeping team for keeping everything spotless and for their attention to detail throughout our stay.

A special mention to Ibs, who looked after us so well at the restaurant — attentive, friendly, and made our dining experience even more enjoyable.
