For my first ever Google review, it is very fitting that it would be a 5 star review for Highland Private Tours! The tour was easily the highlight of our trip; not only because of the amazing scenery, but primarily because of our tour guide, Andy. From the start of our tour with pickup at our hotel, to the end with saying goodbye, Andy conducted our journey with the utmost professionalism and knowledge. He was personable and a joy to be around. Andy had an itinerary planned, but was easily adaptable to any requests we had. We took in stunning sites such as Glencoe/Three Sisters, Loch Tull, Falls of Dochart, and more. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Mhor 84 and toured Doune Castle and saw Midhope Castle (Lallybroch-Outlander). And, we got to feed a Highland Coo! Highland Private Tours was worth every cent and I wish I could have Andy lead every trip I take from here on. We could not have asked for a better tour guide than Andy and highly recommend Highland Private Tours to everyone. Thank you Andy! Go book your tour with them immediately!

I just returned from a magical trip to Scotland’s Isle of Skye and western highlands enabled by the fabulous Andy Mackie of Highland Private Tours. For five days Andy took my friend and I to all the best and beautiful spots. He was a wonderful guide with a deep understanding of the history and scenery of the areas we visited. His easy going manner and delightful personality made the whole trip feel like a jaunt with a friend whose whole focus was making sure we had a good time. In addition, Andy was always thinking ahead and was able to adjust our schedule around periods of challenging weather. Plus traveling in one of Highland Private Tour’s Mercedes E class sedans provided welcome comfort when traversing the rural roads in the highlands! Despite it being a quick trip, we were able to see everything we hoped to see and much more. I can’t thank Andy and Highland Private Tours enough for a memorable vacation and for the extra attention to details and service that made the trip so effortless and fun. I highly recommend them for a fun, stress free experience touring Scotland and Northern England. I hope to return to Scotland, and when I do, I will definitely use Highland Private Tours again.

We had a lovely day with Rowan yesterday. As soon as we set out, he asked if there was anything we were especially interested in seeing. His willingness to be flexible to our interests was a great benefit. He was very knowledgeable and easy to converse with throughout the day. His suggestion for lunch was excellent and we enjoyed each and every stop we made for further exploration. Highly recommend!

I just got back from an amazing trip to Scotland! I took a chance and booked a private driving tour with Highland Private Tours and am soooo glad I did! My tour guide was Andy and he was beyond AMAZING. Took me out to the highlands stopped at a couple awesome castles, had lunch as this cute little whole in the wall place. And was very knowledgeable about the history of Scotland. I had a few places I was curious about and so he added them to my itinerary which was great. If and when I come back I will definitely be booking with them again! I highly recommend Andy and this tour group if thinking about. 10 out of 10 for sure!

It was a great decision on our short visit to Edinburgh to enjoy a day in the Highlands on ‘The Highland Fling’ tour. We had an excellent and enjoyable day exploring the Highlands. Andy was very personable and the perfect host. The tour is well planned, takes in the best places and a great experience. We highly recommend Highland Private Tours.

I can’t recommend Highland Private Tours highly enough. From booking to the day of the tour, there was excellent communication, willingness to create a tour that suited our needs, and just a kind, happy experience. Rowan took us out to see the Highlands and we loved the coos! Also stopped at a castle and saw some lovely lochs as well as a stop for lunch that was fantastic! We were able to check out Dean Village on the way back which we are so glad we got to see before leaving Edinburgh. Rowan is a joy to be around and we wish we could have brought him on the rest of our trip with us!

What a great day we had with Andy. We were able to cover so many places without feeling rushed or committed to a timeline. We had flexibility and many options. Feeding the Highland Coos, Hamish, Baxter and Honey was fun and a highlight of the tour. Our lunch spot Mohr 84 had the simplest yet very tasty food. The scenery around the restaurant was beautiful. Our next stop was whiskey tasting at Deanston Distillery. It was amazing how you experience the different whiskeys and how each one is so unique. It is crazy how adding a drop or 2 of water to a shot can change the whole taste. We ended the day with a heartfelt goodbye. Our day was truly a day to remember and we would highly recommend Andy and Highland Private Tours to anyone looking for a special day they will never forget.

We spent the day with Andy and had a fantastic time! He met us at our hotel and from there we heading toward Glencoe. During the trips he made sure we made some stops to take in the cute Highland Cow, Doune Castle, have a delicious lunch and just take in the beautiful scenery of Scotland. He is extremely knowledgable about the area and we felt 100% comfortable with his driving. Being able to be on our own schedule as opposed to a huge tour bus was really nice. I would highly recommend hiring Andy or his brother for an amazing customized tour.
