I've attended a friend's wedding here aaaaand the first ever Dorset wine festival!! ?
Both times were stunning and spectacular. The grounds are truly just simply stunning, they have added the cafe pantry on the side since my friends wedding but I think this makes a good edition for everyday visits.
With both events, the staff are consistent in ensuring every one is safe, cared for and just in general lovely and kind.... Which do you know what makes 80% of your day so well done guys!
The vendors that attended the wine festival, both wine, jewellery, food stands, hot radio..... All of them were fabulous! The security at the wine festival were so friendly, chatty and not what most people expect from a security guard/ 'bouncer'.
Truly a beautiful castle, stunning grounds and just perfect for weddings or any event, everyday trips with your fur babies for a coffee ?

Interesting place to visit. Restored after a fire in the 60’s. Sympathetically restored building. I think it would benefit from a bit more restoration and some furniture. The location is excellent with a lovely beach and woodland walks. The staff are excellent and go above and beyond to make your visit enjoyable. Parking is payable separately and is around £2 per hour depending how long you stay as it’s controlled by the council

Such a lovely place to visit but sadly for us the house was closed due to a wedding going on in the afternoon. Had a lovely tearoom in the grounds and the staff are lovely and very helpful.
Only thing is because it's close to the beach the carpark can get very busy and a word of advice take change for the carpark as the signal is poor to do the online payment.

Never been before or even heard of it. Amazing ongoing restoration efforts, still a long way to go - but interesting. Cafe closed for restoration & the van was struggling with demand. Fairly easy Access to the beach for a wander on the sandy/stony surface & amazing views of my beloved Isle of Widget!!

This is the most interesting and imaginative restoration projects I have seen with tremendous attention to detail and quality workmanship.Superb. Surely there should be some concession for English Heritage members as EH have contributed so much to the project. I think visitors to the house should also have a discount or refund on the house ticket. The building is only open during the main tourists months so they cannot take advantage of the nominal winter car park charge. This would also mean that those only visiting the beach do pay the full parking fee as they can fill the car park preventing house visitors from parking. The zig zag path to the beach is excellent and makes the lovely beach accessible to more people.

Nothing great history for this place.
Still the recreational work to be done a lot. Entry ticket plus parking is too much for this sub standard castle. A history that isn’t the best. Only relief is the beautiful sea view down the cliff.

It looks amazing when you enter and it is a big church at the front.
The car park is behind and then you can, after paying for the car park , visit the castle or the beach.
For the beach you can go down 100 steps for your right or a zig zag ramp for your left.
It is very nice if you go with children, dogs or bicycles.
Near the castle it is a coffee shop with a large terrace serving expensive coffee or tea.
There are also cakes and sandwiches.
It is nice to sit down for a while and enjoy the views of the castle where the main entrance looks directly to the needles in Isla of White.

The story says that the previous house was near the sea but the sea itself over the years engulfed the cliff and after it was abandoned, it was destroyed.

The new building is superb and you can visit paying 9£ per person. It may be worth it to visit but we didn't.

The toilets near the car park need supervision.

We were lucky enough to get married at Highcliffe Castle last month. On the day itself and in the run up Gracie and the team made sure everything ran flawlessly and we really appreciated their flexibility with us, especially as we don’t live locally. I could not recommend the venue and the team more.
It is such a beautiful place to get married, from the winter garden ceremony room to the stunning castle grounds for drinks reception and we loved being able to go down to the beach for sunset photos! We would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a venue that has it all!
Thank you for everything
