We were recommended Michael at Heritage Travel by friends of ours who had enjoyed a series of amazing holidays organised by him. It had been a long time since we’d been on holiday and didn’t really know what we wanted. After a meeting with Michael he put together a perfect holiday package for us to Mauritius. Along the way due to some issues with our original hotel, Michael got us an upgrade to an even better hotel which was a lovely surprise. We stayed in contact throughout the holiday (which was fabulous by the way) and Michael gave us the heads up that Emirates were offering amazing deals on upgrades for the flights home so we ended the most perfect holiday in some considerable style. Can’t wait for Michael’s suggestions for our next holiday!

My husband and I were wanting a special holiday to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary we were undecided as to what and where to go. Having passed by Heritage Collection Travel several times on our trips into York we decided to pop in, we’re so glad we did!
Michael made us feel very welcome and through chatting he picked up on a couple of things we mentioned and said he would put a few ideas together. Fast forward and we decided on an amazing three centre trip to South Africa which included a stay near Hermanus where we went Whale watching then onto Cape Town where we were able to see Table Mountain Robben Island to name a few, Michael arranged a tour around the coast , Cape Point Cape of Good Hope, Boulders beach to see the penguins as well as other fabulous sights all this with our own personal driver/guide in a luxurious Mercedes.
Then he’d saved the best till last, a Safari in the Timbavati my goodness what an amazing experience, memories (and photo) to last that’s for sure.
Michael arranged everything from a meet and greet as soon as we stepped off the airplane in Cape Town who took us through security and to collect our bags then to a luxury SUV to take us to our first stay, and all the other transfers that were needed all in luxurious vehicles.
Michael also gave us a list of recommended restaurants in Cape Town for us to look through and even made the reservations for us.
I cannot recommend Michael at The Heritage Collection enough nothing is too much trouble he makes booking a holiday an absolute breeze and adds the extra special va va voom …. Thank you Michael ?

From our first visit to the shop and making enquiries, Michael was friendly, interested in what we were wanting and extremely helpful in getting things 'just right'. There was never any pressure to book at any time & we made several visits to him before doing so.
Following this he was happy to look for trips that fitted our itinerary and book these on our behalf if we wanted to, or advise if other trips were better booked when in the country. During our holiday Michael reiterated his support & to message if we needed anything ~ we did, he was able to change a booking for us & that went smoothly.
Having suffered a mishap before our return, I'd had to contact Michael to request mobility assistance to be in place at the 3 airports on our route and for priority seating on the flights. He arranged for these to happen straight away. It was just done!
A complication with our insurance meant that we risked missing the original return flights, so again I contacted Michael as 'a last resort' (out of hours!), he calmly took charge of the travel arrangements and in doing so sorted my insurers out, so that we were able to catch our flight with an hour to spare!
The unquestioning, willing support provided by Michael was well & truly going above & beyond what was expected. The reassurance we had, knowing he was contactable and able to help was little short of amazing!
I have never had problems travelling in the past - but I am so pleased we had booked through Heritage Collection Travel when I did have a problem ~ you couldn't have a more trouble free trip with anyone else.
I emphatically recommend this company, Michael for any holiday bookings!

We wanted to go to Greece but there were lots of tips from family and friends and too many options. So we came in to speak with Michael who listened carefully to what we wanted, asked some excellent questions and a few days later proposed a 14-day, 3 centred holiday. We said we would prefer an earlier flight return so he adjusted the plan for us. He provided options for hotels and we were able to choose the ones we preferred.

We then asked him to make the arrangements for our son to join us for a week in the middle. No problem!

We have now returned from the best holiday we have had for a long time. Travel, transfers, ferries, day trips and good hotels: it all worked perfectly. It was just what we wanted.

Michael was friendly, professional and patient. He is knowledgeable and experienced. We will definitely being going back to Heritage Collection Travel. Where next?

Micheal helped us planning and shaping our Honeymoon, taking care of the finest details and making our holiday dream come true. We spent 16 magic days in Thailand, visited and stayed in the best places, having the time of our life. I could not recommend Micheal and his travel agency more. He's a professional, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely go back to plan our next trip.

Had the pleasure of being able to visit Heritage collection travel yesterday. The location is in the heart of beautiful York and the whole experience was like nothing I had ever experienced before. You walk in and are immersed into a multi sensory experience that just creates a new and innovative way to book a holiday or trip. I was impressed by Michaels knowledge and professionalism and he went out of his way to make our experience care free and enjoyable. Lana also was a bubbly welcoming edition to his team and was just lovely. It is so nice to see a great independent business doing so well and offering something new to a rather dated market.

We have organised two holidays with Heritage. The first to Thailand was done at short notice when Covid 19 restrictions scuppered our original plans with another company. We sat in front of Michael gave him our dates and said “Where in the world…………..” Options were talked through, phone calls made to a man sat on a beach in Thailand and quickly the bones of a plan emerged.
Later when Michael had completed his research we talked again and agreed the final itinerary. The result was a fantastic holiday touring the country, with different guides for the various regions all with incredible knowledge and enthusiasm. The attention to detail of the planning was excellent as was the variety of the places we visited. Having given Michael an insight into the things we like to do, he gave us the perfect vacation.
Heritage Travel have always said that they have an extensive knowledge of holidays in Africa. Our second adventure was a safari and beach holiday in Tanzania and Zanzibar and again we were impressed by Michael’s knowledge of the different camps and their associated wildlife. Having agreed an outline itinerary very quickly, after a couple of iterations, due to one camp being booked up, we finalised the holiday.
Once again excellent guides, precision organisation, and superb accommodation made for another unforgettable holiday. The safari was excellent and our week in Zanzibar was the perfect location to fully relax.
They say that the devil is in the detail. With Heritage Travel they check all the details so that your holiday goes like clockwork. We will definitely be using their knowledge for our next adventure.
