Jeanette provided a bespoke walking tour of Newlyn for members of the Cornish Buildings Group in June 2024. Whilst we saw all the main sights/sites, it was clear that we could have continued all afternoon, such is Jeanette's knowledge and delivery. We were all delighted by the 'surprise' visit at the end, which I hope is included in future tours for other groups. Big thanks Jeanette!

Unmissable walking tour of Newlyn with an expert local.
Recently, Jeanette guided me around historic Newlyn. She is engaging, articulate and incredibly knowledgeable about all things Newlyn. The history, the artist scene, the fishing industry, the local walks and scenery and more. We went from location to location where she brought what we were looking at to life in a most engaging way. Where the shoreline used to be, where the first quay was built, the derelict ice factory, the fish-market/harbour, the medieval core, the hostelries, the fishmongers and more.
She enhanced the experience with a book full of famous paintings and maps from different dates. We paused in many places and she would use a painting or map to show me "how it was". A terrific experience. I gather she can also arrange boat trips and other walks for a group. Superb.

We were taken on a Foot and Ferry tour around Falmouth which looked at almost everything you could imagine, from prehistoric sites through the Middle Ages and right into the World Wars. Jeanette was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and the tour was very well run. She'd also tailored the tour to suit our interests. We'll be back for another tour with her!

Very interesting guided tour of Newlyn to find out about the town and it's people, the fishing then and now. Jeanette is passionate about her town and its history, and well documented through maps and painting by the Newlyn school of painters. Also got to take a peek into the little streets, absolutely loved it!

I had a wonderful heritage adventure exploring Maritime Newlyn with our very knowledgeable guide Jeanette. The walk was an ideal length- not too difficult - and we were taken to many different and interesting areas and viewpoints to give us a comprehensive view of the fishing port of Newlyn. Jeanette has done her research extremely well and could tell us about maritime Newlyn through showing us its historic buildings plus a comprehensive understanding of its contemporary situation.
The walk was informative and very interesting.
I thought I knew all there was to know about this place until today! I highly recommend Heritage Adventures to everyone and look forward to having another one.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars! Jeanette is a fantastic tour guide - deeply knowledgable in so many areas. Our tour of Newlyn was very clear, entertaining, extremely informative and well thought out. Jeanette thoughtfully catered for the fact that our group had certain mobility needs.
