Heart of the Lakes - Lake District Cottages - Ambleside

We visit the Lake District twice a year. Up to finding Heart of the lakes we use to book with different companies. We found Heart of the Lakes 11 years ago and have not looked at another company to book our holiday cottages since.
Staff extremely helpful and friendly nothing too much trouble.
We have only had two problems while staying in the last 11 years and both were sorted that day.
The cottages have always been clean, well equipped and very comfortable.

All makes for a very happy holidays

We have stayed in many cottages around the country and were slightly disappointed this time. As soon as we entered the cottage it had an unpleasant fusty smell, would of been nice to have a plug in air freshener The cottage in Ambleside was in a good position, but just not at all homely it felt a bit tired and needed a spruce up. There was mould on the ceiling In the master en-suite and all over the shower doors. It was cheaper than we usually pay and it showed. We even had to strip the beds !!, We shall stay with a fully equipped cottage next time.

We had a great holiday staying at a lovely apartment in Ambleside, everything went smoothly for us, we even were lucky to collect keys a bit earlier, thanks to the ladies, the apartment was spotless and as described at Lakeslovers, we hope to come back next year.

This was my 2nd booking with Heart Of The Lakes as we were pleased with the simplicity of it last year! The staff are really friendly and the offices are welcoming when you enter. The staff are very knowledgeable about the properties you are interested in and as we were there were allowed to go to view a property before booking. Which we did! Picking the keys up on arrival day is straightforward and very easy and dropping them off is the same. We had no issues with the property so never needed to bother the staff for a week. Fantastic and booked again for next year! Thanks Again

First time I have ever been self catering (usually do B&B). Heart of the Lakes office and staff very helpful from the start. Quick to respond to emails. On arrival at the Ambleside office, key collection very straightforward and the ladies in the office very friendly and welcoming. Had a nice chat and very helpful with information. We had no problems at all with the property so did not need to call upon them for anything during our stay but, being open on Sunday and Bank Holidays, I feel we would have probably got a quick response. Will definitely be staying with them again (soon I hope!).

I have been dealing with Heart of the Lakes for the past 11 years, booking accommodation in the Lake District for my wife and myself, mostly in Romney Grange. I have always found their team at Fisherbeck Mill to be very pleasant and accommodating. At the same time they have always been very efficient, reliable and accurate in carrying out their transactions. In the office when collecting or returning keys, I have found that the staff is again very welcoming and pleasant to deal with. In all I have absolutely no complaints about how I have been treated in my annual contact with all at Heart of the Lakes. Hopefully my association with them will continue for a long time

We always use Heart of The Lakes when booking our accommodation in the Lakes, and have done since the first time we visited 7 years ago. The staff are friendly and helpful, the cottages we have stayed in have all been absolutely lovely and very well maintained. Any issues we have come across along the way have been resolved very quickly and the booking process is very quick and easy. We have recommended Heart of The Lakes to many people and we have even put them down as our recommended accommodation provider for our wedding guests as we're getting married in the Lakes this year.

We have stayed in Ambleside using Heart of the Lakes three times now. The website is easy to use and book with, and the office staff are friendly and helpful. This Easter was the first time with the children and the property we chose in Ambleside - The Gables - was perfect - exceedingly well equipped and clean with a great position and amazing views from the windows. Double thumbs up from the kids (and adults) and we will be booking again next year - hopefully the same property as we were so impressed. And it didn't rain, honest!
