We booked a trip through Hays. Mom later got diagnosed with terminal cancer and we couldn’t complete the trip. They wouldn’t help with refunds (they said it was on page 8 but when I asked them to provide it they ignored me). We contacted the airline on our own and were granted a refund but never received it because it was sent to Hays in June and they claim it was never received. The airline insists they sent it and they won’t help because the travel agent booked the flights. Hays won’t even help to follow up, they don’t even reply. I thought using a travel agent makes things easier but this was NOT in our case. It actually cost us the full price of the trip PLUS the refund we fought for. Because we booked through a travel agent the airline will only send refunds there. When you work with a travel agent that is non-responsive and unsupportive, it makes it impossible when a problem arises. We will never use them again.
