I received "Mailing" from Hays Travel in August offering a "Buy one get one free" offer, in conjuction with Ambassador cruises. This was not a genuine offer as I was invoiced for over double the "price per person". The Agent told me that would be the cost per person in the brochure, but could not produce any evidence.
This statement turned out to be untrue, but Hays Travel / Ambassador were not prepared to honour the so called deal

I went into Hays Teavel yesterday to book a holiday. The staff are all so friendly, caring, kind, helpful, outgoing, bubbly and understanding. The level of customer service and care is excellent. The shop is always kept clean and tidy and it is very welcoming.

We would recommend this travel agents to anybody who would still like the one to one high level of service that you receive. They go above and beyond with their expertise and Alison is a credit to the company. We use the southport branch.

Extremely friendly and informative staff was made to feel really welcome in the store. Exchanged my currency for dollars for my upcoming trip to Florida and took out one of the Hays travel money cards.
Will most definitely go back to book my next holiday with them.

The staff are so unhelpful. Didn’t seem to want to assist. Terrible service from the man that was looking up my holiday. Unsure how they are still actively open with very poor customer service skills and lack of knowledge. Went Tui instead and got the holiday I wanted.

Very poor customer service
Once hays received my money they didn't want to know me
I had to wait until the day before holiday departure before I could pick up my tickets...even though they were dated 2 weeks before

Beware if buying foreign currencies. A substantially better rate is available elsewhere though if you haggle they will offer to match it. However they will then add on what they refer to as a buyback guarantee amounting to around 2to 2 1/2%. Unfortunately they don’t inform you of this until you question why the charge is higher than you had calculated!.

They are not very happy when you point out to them that you do not want this add-on. I shan’t be going there again
