We had our wedding here in August 2025 and the venue was faultless for our whole experience. The food, a 3 course dinner, was amazing and every dietary requirement was easily catered for to a high standard. The accommodation was amazing with every amenity considered and the rooms were all spotlessly clean. Every member of staff was wonderful and so helpful and our guests also commented on this to us! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We went for breakfast and was left feeling underwhelmed with our experience.

I have always considered the Haycock to be 'high-end' and a little exclusive and so expected the service to reflect this.
Initial greeting was nice and we were shown through to the breakfast room, which was in a period dining room.
The issue I had was, we ordered tea and coffee and then ordered food, but no one ever came to see if a) we were enjoying the food and b) did we want more tea and coffee? For the money, it just lacked the dining experience we were expecting. The toast was only toasted on one side and the portions were not huge (for the money).

We're going back at the end of the month with a large party for dinner..... lets hope the dinner service is better.

Went back for a family dinner as planned for 14 x people, and the service and food was FANTASTIC!

Huge Thanks to Ava who was looking after everyone and did an amazing job with the food order. Nothing was too much trouble and despite 14 x different requests for extra items, everything arrived at the table at the same time and was piping hot. And a huge thank you to the restaurant manager for putting us in the private dining room, which allowed us to all chat and enjoy our meal.

As a family, we have finally found somewhere that all the family enjoy and we will definitely return.

We had our wedding at the Haycock in August 2025. Every single detail was taken care of and it all seemed to fall into place so effortlessly! Everything about the day ran perfectly and we are both so grateful to all of the team at the Haycock for that. We had a stunning three course wedding breakfast which was easily adapted to all dietary requirements and the breakfast the morning after was absolutely amazing. The rooms for us and the guests were all beautiful! So well decorated with all the amenities to hand that you could want and spotlessly clean. Thank you so much!

Stayed here whilst in near area on business & main reason for doing so, was it mentioned air con in rooms.||So with sticky hot nights in play, due to recent hot weather....then proceeded to book as it said rooms had such.||Got room 307 & on first appearance the room seemed fine & no reason to raise any issues with. But when the wanted air con after say a good hour of trying every option on the control, was giving less to no cool breeze...it was then time to call Reception & seek dome help.||Well I would have, if the in room Phone worked. No signal, no power & then noted the connection cable hanging loose in Wall connection pint. So went to place in & only to note the Cable disappear through & fixing behind.||So had to then use my Mobile to call Reception & on call Reception lad then came to room & aid with possible reasons air con was not working. After him checking & checking another room, he was in agreement with me, not much cool air was flowing...if any.||Asked him about in room Phone, no suggestions or reason give, other than apology.||Offered another room, but at 22.15 hrs in evening and just wanting to get some crash time, as early start next morning...declined the offer.||Tried having window open for a while, but with much walk bye traffic outside room, gave up on that.....and just sweated it out until getting to sleep.||Not the accommodation experience I had expected for monies being paid & as say offered up on website.||The food however did tick many a wanted box of need & as I was working off Laptop, sat in Bar area, to be able to do work & eat away at same time. Rather feel obligation to change & dine in Restaurant.||Had the Cheese Croquettes to start & then Burger main course, that were well executed & freshly made, whilst adequately filling the hunger needs.||Staff girl on duty was chirpy, pleasant & very helpful in direction on what to have & gave honest recommendations on what to have.||Breakfast, did not stay for sit down as was on the hop to get going for work meeting, so grabbed a Glass of OJ & couple of Croissants.||But doubt much privacy to be had, unless it was quiet time & say first down....then may have opted not to. As room used, not big & Tables were very on top of each other. So in terms of privacy or wanted chat with who with, not exactly possible. ||Do think they would much better place breakfast in other Restaurant area, as not everyone enjoys a crowded morning eatery area. ||Gardens & outside areas, clean enough, but some parts of say Gardens there is works in mid doing. But overall plenty areas to go and relax & switch off in some fresh air & peaceful riverside surroundings.||On check out, asked if I had enjoyed stay, so expressed a mix reply & reasons behind. Apology given, but it was what it was & she could not turn back the Clock to fix.||Overall, staff & food were above average & helped my given rating of good experience. A skin of the Teeth good I must say & if room issues had not been so problematic , then an excellent one may have been ticked.

Room was spacious and comfortable as you would expect for the price. Excellent lighting for reading in bed which is usually a source of frustration. Plenty of choice of places to relax and have a drink in public rooms. |We ate in Prevost and the quality of the food did not disappoint. The flavours and presentation were excellent and I felt that the chef has managed to innovate without forgetting that the meal is to be enjoyed by the consumer rather than a culinary high jump for the chef. It was good and unusual to have a choice of main course. |Breakfast was delicious too as was the brasserie meal. |We stayed here as I wanted to visit Peterborough Cathedral but consider we have found a superb hotel right beside the A1. |The staff team were helpful and courteous throughout the booking process and the stay.

I’ve had steak on two previous occasions which was good….. however, tonights experience was awful. Baked cod which was tiny and reconstituted, pear which tasted like it had been kept in a jar on a warm windowsill for a week, served with raw potatoes. Two mouthfuls and I found that it was making me gag.

I was still hungry and asked for a plain burger in replacement. The burger was good but took 30 minutes to arrive and my other half had finished eating. The burger was ok and the remaining meal was also good but doesn’t settle that appalling (I’ve never tasted anything worse …. ever) first meal being served. Seriously bad for an up market restaurant. Did they even taste it before being served!

Yes, I accepted a replacement and an adjusted bill but in all seriousness that main would never have been acceptable and makes me seriously question the ability of the kitchen.

Reception area was impressive|Style of lounge not a relaxing atmosphere due to decor.|Maybe worst breakfast we've ever had. Bacon? impossible to eat. ---- Our rooms described as garden weren't even as good as Premier Inn. Very dark strange decor|Very disappointing

It had been a few months since our last culinary experience here and again last night Kim and I were not disappointed.|Eating in the Haycock Kitchen is always wonderful with its laid back atmosphere, impeccable service and food of the highest quality being a joy to experience.|From the moment you walk into The Haycock you feel you are one of the family and that cannot be said of many places we visit.|So if you get the chance to eat here please go and we don’t think you will be disappointed.|Thank you to Steve and all his team for a wonderful evening.|Kim & I look forward to seeing you all again very soon.|👍😀👏||ps the Tagliatelle and the fish & chips were amazing 👍😀👏
