Very interesting countryside museum full of the crafts of yesteryear with information. I especially liked the knitting part. Gift shop, tourist information, cafe (light bites/sandwiches, not meals), very helpful and happy staff. Small discount for Senior's and if parking in car park. Toilets (also in car park). Seasonal Exhibition.

A lovely information centre with museum attached just on the edge of the village centre.
Within the the village are various shops with plenty of Public houses also. Outside one of them you will encounter one of the best Wallace and Grommit displays I have ever seen
Then again you are in Wensleydale.

Super Museum of the local area. Great for families. Car park adjacent. The little train doesn't move, the carriages have local stories & artifacts. A great visit just on the edge of the village.

Plenty of places to park . The visitor centre plus Dales museum is a very nice place to browse then go to the cafe, which is also a bike shop for a lovely piece of cake. After your coffee and cake have a stroll up to Hawes through the cobbled street, watch the small waterfall. Browse the variety of shops and the Wensleydale creamery before heading back to the car.
