Lovely lunch, excellent waitress but the manageress very rude. We were asked to move as she wanted the table after 2 and a half hours. Apparently during half term you can only have the table up to 2 hours. Couldn’t see any mention on the website or in the restaurant. Lots of empty tables and no one at the reception desk when we left. Was hoping to make it a regular for our support group of 10 people once a month but not now. Won’t be returning.

Hartford Marina is a lovely spot that combines peaceful riverside views with a range of facilities for both boat owners and visitors. Located along the River Great Ouse, it’s a quiet, scenic place that’s perfect for relaxing by the water. The marina itself is well maintained, with clean moorings and easy access for boats. There’s plenty of space for walking along the riverside, and it’s a popular place to watch the boats come and go.

For those staying overnight, the facilities are well looked after — including showers, toilets, and electricity hook-ups. The on-site staff are friendly, approachable, and always ready to help with mooring or local advice. There’s also a bar and restaurant that serves a good range of food and drinks, making it a nice place to unwind after a day on the river.

Parking is convenient and close to the moorings, and there are picnic spots nearby if you want to bring your own food. It’s also a great starting point for river trips or walks in the surrounding countryside.

Overall, Hartford Marina offers a calm, welcoming atmosphere, excellent facilities, and beautiful surroundings — whether you’re visiting for a day or mooring your boat long-term.

The Hartford mill restaurant and bar was very busy when we visited ....everything seems to run like clockwork ... staff very busy getting orders to the tables ...and still they have time to make time for each customer. I liked that the menu wasn't overwhelming. There is also a carvery with at least three choices which includes vegetarian. The staff are very mindful in keeping everywhere clean and tidy in and around the restaurant area.
The site of Hartford marina, as a whole, is very pleasant, friendly, clean and very tidy. We visited as we were meeting with other disabled photographers society members taking a trip on the boat belonging to the Ladybird Boat trust. Such a marvellous afternoon on the river ... thank you to all who looked after us.

Visited Hartford Marina on Saturday and hired a lovely little hire boat, it was just my wife and i but it would have seated 6 comfortably. The boat was immaculate and well looked after, the staff were friendly and helpful. We had the boat for 2 hours and managed to cover a large and interesting area. The shop was well stocked and very tidy. Have already booked to go again, Paddle-boarding is also available as well as usual marina facilities.

I would not recommend buying a boat from here. Boat sale staff are rude and unhelpful and wasn’t honest about problems on the boat, I felt belittled and would not be returning here again.

Really pleased with this marina, good, clean, modern and effective facilities and friendly even during lockdown, as much as it can be from a distance and with the pub closed etc. Quiet but always with people around as has quite a few liveaboarders. Very accommodating of dogs, cats, kids, everyone really. Pontoons are all quite new and work being done to the road, so they do look after the place, been to plenty of marinas that neglect these things! It's everything I'd want really although it would be nice if there was better access to walks and countryside along the river on the marina side, as it is a bit closed off from the river frontage. A picnic area on that side would be lovely.
