I stopped with my two young children on my way to Berkshire from West Yorkshire. It was a good choice. There was a little take away selling pasties, sandwiches, scones, ice creams, hot drinks etc. The lady was very friendly. Toilets including disabled with baby changing facilities. The walks were beautiful with access to Hardwick Hall up the hill and lots of ponds and lakes. We had a lovely take away picnic in the fields and lots of exercise which meant my 1 and 2 year old slept for the duration of the journey. £2 to park for two hours was very reasonable. A lovely quiet spot with everything we needed.

I have started to volunteer at Hardwick. It is great for walks apart from the incredible history surrounding it. I have only been twice but can see that my volunteering is going to be a very good experience I will love. There are so many events it's great for old and young alike. Love it

Me and my husband stopped for a hot drink and a scone after a very cold but beautiful walk with our 3 dogs. We very much enjoyed them there were very tasty. The lady who worked in the cafe was an absolute gem she was so kind and helpful.

Not very wheelchair or mobility scooter friendly nor is there disability toilets. But very nice to walk around if you're able bodied. Free parking for blue badge holders

They don't mention about this little centre up at the main site. But it is very nice, friendly staff, parking (free for national trust members) it you can walk down from the main site. Toilets and a little shop with ice cream, homemade biscuits, hot and cold drinks, even cream scones. 😁 Worth a slog up and down the hill. Dogs on leads where livestock are grazing.

However car park is ONLY cash unless you're a NT member.
Watch out for the extremely friendly swan who would like your sandwiches!
