Haigh Hall and the surrounding plantations, AKA Haigh Woodland Park are a great place for a bit of R&R. The main path through the plantations is wide and and is surfaced with tarmac making it accessible for all. It's both dog and cycle friendly with several entrances that include access from Swinley, Whelley and Haigh. As of March 2025 the main hall, a listed stately home, is currently undergoing restoration however there are many other facilities in the immediate vicinity. These include a sprawling playground for the kids, high rope adventure, mini golf, a great little bar and numerous cafes and shops. There is also a large carpark close to the facilities for those who wish to arrive by car.

Perfect picnic spot for all the family. Park great for all ages however alot of it is high for the older ones. There is sand too so take a bucket and spade. There are ride on diggers. Cutest miniature trains too. Golf wasn't open unfortunately.

A lovely day out and the weather played it's part.
Super place to take children for the day. Loads to do some free and some to pay for. Two putt putt courses and mini theme park. Food court and toilets. Even a golf course on site.

Excellent park for a day out, there's lots to do and it has been improved a lot over recent years with new attractions and activities.
The main path through the park is great, it's very wide and smoothly tarmacked so is accessible for everyone including wheelchair users.
The only negative for me is the parking. It can get very busy when the weather is nice and the car park is too small given that there's nowhere else you can park (all the surrounding roads have double yellows) and there is only one pay machine that works.
Would definitely recommend a visit though, it's a great place.

Haigh Hall has truly come on leaps and bounds after years of being stagnant. More coffee shops in the Visitor Centre than Wigan town centre I think! A great combination of nature, trails, and things to do.

Haigh Hall itself is currently being renovated, so I'm looking forward to seeing the end result in a year or two.

Had a fantastic day out here. There is so much to do for the children during school holidays. They had some small fair inside the park. Big playground. They also have mini golf for all the family. Need to pay extra for the fair and mini golf. They also have seating to have your picnic. If you want some quiet time they have a little pond at front with benches or can sit in the garden area. Sitting benches all around the park. Great facilities include farm shops and food places. Bathrooms were tidy. Lot of parking space. I paid £3.50 and I was there with my family for around 4 hours. Highly recommended
