The location of this accommodation, very close to Hadrian's Wall Path, was ideal. The cozy little lodge we stayed in was well planned and appointed. We had everything we needed to be comfortable. And Nigel, the owner, couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. He drove us to Greenhead for dinner, and then came back and picked us up! We were so grateful, because we were pretty tired after a long day on the Path, and were so happy not to have to walk to and from dinner! Thank you, Nigel!!! You are the best!

The location was excellent, right where we needed to be.|The amenities were excellent: secured covered bike shed, plenty of hot water and good water pressure in the shower, spacious cabin, comfortable beds, quiet. There was even a fan (which helped dry our wet clothes), and a bucket and brush for cleaning the trail dirt, etc. off our shoes.|The breakfasts were fresh and delicious, and tailored to our tastes. A variety of teas and good coffee were available in the cabin.|But the best was the over-the-top hosts. They anticipated guests needs and provided for them. They were helpful, accommodating, offered advice, and were always approachable. Nigel booked dinner for us and delivered us to and from, as well as dropped us at the start of our second walking day.|We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Thank you so much Catherine and Nigel for a wonderful stay. You made us feel extremely welcome and we were very pleased by the very high standard of accommodation and Nigel your cooked breakfasts were amazing. Our home for the two nights was so well equipped (the microwave and fridge a bonus) and that together with the comfy bed, cleanliness and the amazing amount of space made our stay perfect. Catherine's guided tour of Vindolanda was amazing, she is clearly an expert and made our afternoon visit to the site exceptional. We learnt so much. Thank you both .

We had a fabulous time at the local Roman sites and museums. Catherine was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and interesting and she was wonderful company. The accommodation was comfortable and clean and we were given great breakfasts and advice on where to have dinner.

Very comfy en suite cabin, all amenities, excellent breakfast. Wonderful, generous hosts who dried out all our gear in their dedicated drying room when we turned up sopping wet - and drove us to and from a very good dinner at the local hotel. Thank you, Nigel and Catherine!

We enjoyed our two-night stay in the Tyne Lodge. Nigel and Catherine made our stay memorable. Services included local transportation, dining recommendations & reservations, drop off and pickup, and information of the area and its history. Breakfasts were great and delivered to the lodge. There was an afternoon baked good offered. The lodge was clean and compact with comfortable bedding and plenty of hot water. Catherine gave us an informative tour of Birdoswald with the history & characteristics of Roman forts.

Lovely comfortable rooms with large walking showers and lovely breakfast served in your room. Nigel provided a lift to/from a local pub for dinner, which was much appreciated after our Wall walk.

Catherine is a brilliant and knowledgeable guide, happy to provide tailored tours. She pointed out fascinating historical details in the surrounding landscape even before we arrived at Vindolanda and Magna. Both visits were excellent.
