Stopped here on our way out of Scotland. The facilities were clean, the food we bought delicious. It was a good place to grab a couple last minute tourist things before heading back to England. There was plenty of parking.
Had to come for a peek after reading about the place in so many historical romance. They still do weddings in the area. I can imagine it would be a fun way to celebrate a family tradition if your ancestor had done so as well

Peter greeted us and told us the history of the place. He was very friendly and informative. The exhibition was amazing. Carpark is free. Lots of souvenirs and not rip off prices. Managed to catch two weddings while we were there. The pipers were incredible and added some nice authenticity to the venue.

Definitely a “tourist trap” that will cost you to spend a lot of money. It is a super big store with hundreds of types of Scottish souvenirs, and far better than those shop in big cities like Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Excellent place to visit.
Whether a born Scot or overseas visitor.
We met a very nice lady from Tasmania & a couple of busloads of Japanese.
Then tried out the Couples Maze

We always enjoy going back after we got married there. Halloween was the theme for this visit. Everyone is so accommodating and friendly.

If visiting Scotland, this is a must visit. The original buildings have not been modernised, so it keeps it's quaint feeling and look. Still a popular wedding venue, though you can't elope to get married any longer.

An interesting stop off, on the way back from visiting Glasgow.
The shops have some great items which is reasonably priced and the food and refreshments in the food fall is good too.
There was a wedding taking place during our visit, which was lovely.

The world famous Gretna Green, where young couples from England eloped to in order to get married before their 21st birthday. Weddings here since the 1700s ... So much history and a beautiful place.
