Beeyootiful place. Absolutely stunning. Lovely quaint town centre with great facilities. Pubs cafes, public loos, supermarket, tourist centre and a gorgeous river walk where you can walk in the non slippy river or swim in deeper pools in clean cold water. The drive to get there across country was a delight too.

I have not been to Grassington for many a year, but now it is famous as the setting of TV's "All Creatures Great and Small." Not a big place but nice selection of shops and eating places. And it is surrounded by the Yorkshire Dales. What more could anyone want?

The town with its bridges and dam is astonishingly beautiful.
Worth a nice walk around, and the lovely streets with small restaurants and pubs offers "drink and food remuneration". The river bank is relatively clear, however there are no designated pick nick areas, playgrounds or fireplaces. Therefore it might not fill a day for the family, this explains the lost star.
The parking lot is big enough, and I say disabled friendly enough.

Lovely little village. Lots of cafes. We parked in the large car park. Pay and display. Plenty of space. Short walk to centre. Also had toilets. Great circular walks.

Grassington National Park Visitor Centre, it ticks all the boxes!

If you’re searching for the perfect starting point to explore the stunning Yorkshire Dales, look no further than the Grassington National Park Visitor Centre. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear that this place is both welcoming and convenient, making it a top choice for visitors.

The location is nothing short of idyllic. Nestled in the heart of the Dales, it’s only a mere two-minute stroll from the charming village centre of Grassington. This proximity means you can easily enjoy the quaint shops, cafes, and local culture before or after your adventures in the park.

Parking is ample and, importantly, affordable. The full-day parking pass is reasonably priced, which is a big plus considering how many attractions and trails are easily accessible from the centre. It makes it easy to spend an entire day exploring without worrying about finding a spot or incurring hefty parking fees.

The centre features a lovely park area, complete with benches and picnic tables—perfect for relaxing with family or friends. Whether you want to enjoy a packed lunch or simply take in the views, this outdoor space enhances the experience.

The restrooms at the Visitor Centre are clean and well-maintained, and I particularly appreciate the voluntary contribution system in place. Unlike many other facilities that charge 50p, this approach feels much more gracious and considerate, making visits more enjoyable.

The Centre offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, which are perfect for those Instagram-worthy shots. Plus, the chance to see local wildlife adds to the natural charm of the area—an unexpected delight that truly elevates the experience. Whether you’re an avid birdwatcher or just looking for a serene moment in nature, you won’t be disappointed.

I parked here for a walk along the river via Linton Falls. It's a pay and display car park and is a bit pricey. The machine I used was card only, but not sure if all machines are the same. I found a parking spot easily midweek, but it does get busy, particularly on weekends.

The bus terminated here, but the visitor centre didn't look very exciting. The views are good though. There's quite an amount of car parking which was verging on full on Easter Saturday.

A great place. Lovely little town around the Dale's and plenty of walking area. The waterfall is gorgeous. The visitors centre was super helpful .. First visit here and I was given a map of the area and a magazine with information of all events on within the year and what a lovely little shop /gift shop it is. Was not the best weather for my visit but none the less still beautiful and a great wander taking in the sights of just one little path of the Yorkshire Dales!
