A Brilliant Whirlwind Through London’s Icons!

Golden Tours’ Open Top London Bus Tour with Live Guide was the perfect way to soak in the city’s grandeur during our short visit. From the moment we hopped aboard, we were treated to panoramic views of London’s most iconic landmarks—Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Trafalgar Square, and more—all from the breezy comfort of the top deck.

The real gem of the experience was our guide, Mike. Equal parts historian and stand-up comedian, he brought the city to life with fascinating facts, cheeky anecdotes, and a delivery that kept us laughing and learning the whole way. His knowledge was encyclopedic, yet never dry—he made centuries of history feel fresh and fun.

The route was thoughtfully designed, weaving through Westminster, the City of London, and Kensington, with plenty of photo ops and chances to hop off and explore. For anyone short on time but big on curiosity, this tour is a fantastic way to get your bearings and see the highlights without the hassle.

Highly recommend—especially if you get Mike as your guide. He’s the kind of storyteller who makes you fall in love with a city.

We had a fantastic experience on our evening open-top bus tour—and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing live guide, Tim!

I had debated between a few companies, but reviews for the others mentioned lackluster audio guides that didn’t really sync up with what you were seeing. I’m so glad we went with this one instead. Having Tim live on board made all the difference—he was engaging, funny, and full of great stories that really brought the city to life.

We were able to enjoy the 2nd level open-air seats without having to commit to a full day of hopping on and off. The timing was perfect—watching London light up at sunset was magical, and the bus wasn’t crowded so we easily got great seats up top. We even had time afterward to grab dinner nearby.

Tim truly made it a memorable experience. I hope this review helps him get the recognition (and bonus!) he deserves. Highly recommend this tour—especially if you can ride with Tim!

We went for a tour through Golden Tours to Windsor, Stonehenge, and Bath on 9/14/2023, and it was a fantastic time all around. Our guide Tom and the driver Eddie were so knowledgeable and kind that they made an impression that kept their names in my head even a year and a half later, when I realized I hadn't posted a review! It was an all around great day - weather, drive, sights, and I couldnt recommend this company (and the crew!) more. Their on-off bus system was great for getting around as well.

Great experience last night with the missus as we take in both the sights and the festive lights. Our guide was excellent (Graham) who was entertaining and engaging. It was a little busy on the roads (Saturday night) and it was a little cold so please remember to wrap up warm.

Highly recommended.

Luckily we stumbled onto this hop on-hop off bus tour. I had initially been looking and trying to book an alternate tour bus (London City bus tour) but I had been unable to book their tour online due to their website so I just turned up in the morning where all these bus tours seem to start at (Belvedere road behind the London eye). I spoke with Adel Massimo who was the rep for Golden tours who happened to be the first person I saw there and he was really no pressure with sales and we saw this company had many buses; I did go to the London City bus tour rep but felt a lot better talking to Adel. We purchased the 24 hour hop-on-off tour.
I think we also had a real character for our guide, Dominic, he was an excellent guide, I thought he was very funny and full of stories. He really made our tour and we were really lucky to have him. We actually did not disembark for the whole bus tour since he was so entertaining. I think we spent close to two hours on the tour ride around the main sites.
Our ticket also included a river cruise which I wanted to take but we actually ran out of time that day. This cruise runs from the Tower of London to Westminster pier.
The only negative of this tour was we wanted to see Borough market and the driver was able to tell us where it was and what stop to get off at, unfortunately it was closed on Mondays. I wish the bus driver or one of the guides told us it was closed. That caused some frowns from the family when we turned up at an empty market.
Overall I would recommend this London tour and especially if you can get the guide Dominic.

We did the open-top London bus tour with a live guide. Our guide Tim was great! His jokes kept us laughing throughout. We really appreciate that Golden Tours is the only tour bus company in London that still uses live guides. That is why I chose them over the other options. Our bus driver Radoo was lovely as well. I highly recommend!

Joined the day tour to Bath and Stonehenge. It was a pleasurable journey and the weather was really beautiful. Time control of the tour was nice. The tour guide Amanda is very humorous. The tour was probably a mix of English tour and Chinese tour, so Amanda needed to professionally communicate in both languages. The driver Malcolm drove stably and I got some nice sleep on the coach.
