GM Travel - Northwich

I could have left a poor review previously but enough is enough. I'll start at the beginning. My daughter and 3 grandchildren came to visit several weeks ago and booked a taxi with GM travel from Acton Bridge. She was quoted up to around £12 for the 1.9 mile trip to Weaverham. She was charged £20. Not having the confidence to question this, she paid it. A lot of money for a non-working single parent. I called GM travel to enquire and rather than offering to reduce her return trip by the difference, they opted to investigate my complaint. After several days and me having to chase the company, they eventually refunded her the difference with no offer of extra by way of apology. I must add the taxi was late too, the relevance of this will become clear in establishing a pattern.

Today, 15th June, my daughter again made another visit, being Father's Day (very young children in tow too). She used GM travel again due to the convenience of online booking. This time it was her return trip back to Hartford station. I will list the timeline of events as follows:

1) Taxi booked for 16:30 to catch the 17:00 train from Acton Bridge. Taxi was reporting online as being 9 minutes late.
2) 16:40 - call to GM travel to provide update on timing and advised this was to catch a train. GM said the taxi would arrive in 5 minutes.
3) 16:46 - Call to GM who said taxi was on it's way after minutes holding on the line whilst checking with the driver. She was told the taxi was about 5 minutes away. By this time, this would mean ETA 16:55. GM again reminded by my daughter of needing to catch a train at 17:00.
4) My daughter was not going to be able to catch this train and decided to walk for the 18:00 train instead. GM travel contacted to cancel the taxi.

This is shocking service! Late taxis, I mean very late. GM travel, based on our experience, are a totally unreliable taxi service. They made no interim attempt to contact my daughter to advise on lateness or to apologise. This is not okay, and not an acceptable way to run a taxi service.

GM Travel, do not take bookings if you cannot commit to being reliable as some people rely on punctuality.

I recently used GM Travels for a taxi ride from Northwich to the airport, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. The service was incredibly professional from start to finish. The driver arrived on time, the vehicle was clean and comfortable, and the journey was smooth and efficient. I felt safe and well taken care of throughout the trip. I highly recommend GM Travels for anyone needing reliable transportation.
They truly exceeded my expectations!

I'm definitely going to use these again as they were helpful, punctual, patient and polite. Best of all they were able to provide a wheelchair carrier taxi, so my dad could come out to
my birthday party. Without their help dad would be unable to socialise with family and friends and be trapped in his house.

Booked taxi to airport for Monday morning at 5:20. Had a call on Sunday to confirm the booking.
Taxi did not show. Tried calling the office a couple of times, but no answer. No follow up communication or apology as to why they failed to collect.
After 30 minutes of waiting and no communication, I had to find alternative arrangements.
I nearly missed my flight as a result of this.
It’s simply not acceptable with something as important as an airport journey. Will avoid at all costs going forward.

The worst taxi service going, they either don't show up, and then blame you, or are extra late to show up, it's littler a roll of the dice, no idea what happened to GM but the service the last year or so has become horrific.

Their drivers are always punctual, courteous, and helpful. The vehicles are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained.
