Stayed in this splendid castle (1860) for several nights.|West, north west, of the island's capital (Tobermory), 5 miles and 15 / 20 minutes to drive to, near the coast. Great vista / views.|Lovely friendly, helpful hosts. Opulent / historical surroundings, with a warm feel (considering the size of the place). |Great walks on land / coastal, plus they have their own coffee shop / art gallery nearby too.|We were treated so well and had a great experience at Glengorm Castle. I’ve had the privilege to stay in lovely hotels all around the world, and I genuinely can’t think of one I enjoyed more than the Tower Rooms at Glengorm Castle.||The rooms consist of their own apartment within the castle itself. They are cosy, stylish, comfortable, atmospheric and a really happy place to stay. The photos on the website don’t really do it justice!||We loved the log fire, the turret, the views from the turret, the bath and the bedrooms, the book collection, the well-equipped kitchen, the comfy beds with good linen, the towels… the whole package really!||We occasionally said hello to the owners as we came and went, and Pam who manages the property was responsive to the one call we made. Bear in mind that you maintain the property yourself, so be ready to make beds, stay tidy and make your own breakfast.||Our only regret was staying just three nights: there’s so much to do in the vicinity that we didn’t have enough time just to hang out at the castle, go for walks etc. Still that gives us a good excuse to return!||Absolutely, 100%, wholeheartedly recommend it!

You can’t go inside unless you’re staying at the hotel (we didn’t realise this) but the walk around is beautiful. Cafe open Thursday-Sunday

We had an amazing stay at the Terrace Flat at Glengorm Castle. The space was incredibly spacious and equipped with everything we needed. Every evening, we enjoyed stunning sunset views from our window. The area offers plenty of beautiful nature walks. The cafe is short walk from the flat and provides delicious food. I highly recommend staying here and can’t wait to return soon.

Amazing! Beautifully decorated in every single room, fully stocked with any kitchen appliance or tool you might need, and (obviously) plenty of space, indoor and outdoor.
The view was incredible, with mountains, hills, the ocean, the sky, sheep, and cows, all in one frame. The yard was super pretty as well, with very plush grass.
Absolutely would recommend, definitely worth it (Plus, the down-the-road tea room had wonderful scones).

We visited from Australia and spent a week at the end of April 24 in the Lodge which is located at the entrance to the estate. The purpose of the visit was to see the birthplace of my maternal grandfather. He was born in The Lodge in 1884.|The Lodge is well equipped for a comfortable stay. Our bed was comfy and the silence at night ensures a great night's sleep. On a couple of mornings, we woke to the sound of owls and cuckoos. There was ample firewood for the cozy fire in the living room. The Lodge was very clean. The standing stones are a short walk away which is a must see as is the castle. Another highlight was seeing the local highland cattle. Our hosts Tom and Marjorie Nelson are very friendly and helpful. You can often find Marjorie at the Coffee Shop on the estate and Tom working around the estate. The food is excellent with a fabulous range of cakes and pastries. The coffee shop also stocks a great range of local produce including cheeses and meat. We purchased a lamb shoulder which was delicious.|For a relaxed break this is the ideal location.

To be brutally honest we had no idea what to expect from our visit to Glengorm Castle but as you can see from the various photographs it is a stunning building in the most perfect location and we absolutely loved staying there. Within two hours of being there I was walking around the lawns and a Golden Eagle flew overhead and hovered for a while on the sea winds coming in over the headland. That was worth 5 stars alone!||The rooms are very comfortable as was the bed and the towels are large and fluffy, just perfect. The toiletries are first class and you have everything you could possibly need within the wing itself, plus private parking of course. Which to be fair is shared a little with the ground staff but it was actually great to see them doing their thing and looking after the place.||Like I said, we didn't know what to expect and I suppose having just come from an outstanding 5 star hotel surrounded by people the whole time to a 5 day self-catering stay in the West Wing of this castle venue it was , of course, completely different from being waited on hand and foot, so took a little adapting to.||When we arrived there was no one around so as we were a little early we went to the nearby Glengorm Coffee Shop and had a brilliant lunch there. I would thoroughly recommend the Shepherds Pie. Also the service was great and the staff were lovely.||When we went back to the castle there was still no one around except for a lady we could see through a window sitting at a computer. She clearly saw us but remained seated even though it was obvious I was wandering around like a lost sheep as I didn't know where to go. I did think that was a little odd and maybe she could have at least told us where to go. Then I remembered the lady at the coffee shop said that the West Wing was down the side of the building and had its own entrance where we should be able to let ourselves in. ||We went round and as we got there a lady appeared from the inside the castle to greet us and that was Pam. She was lovely and after a quick show round pretty much left us to it. She explained that the wi-fi was rubbish and to be fair, it was as I couldn't even get into it. Unfortunately, so was 4g which I could only get in one corner of the room or upstairs. So if you are looking for peace and quiet then this is the place to be. I wasn't too bothered by that as it was good to be off the grid for a while but, like most people, we did need to check in with family of course, which we did mostly away from the castle to get a better signal. That said, I can't imagine anyone booking a place like this where the main reason for staying is great TV and internet.| |Sadly, we didn't see Pam or anyone else for the rest of the week, it would have been nice to maybe have a chat at some point about the castle and its history rather than just read about it. That felt a bit strange but I suppose most people go there for the solitude and want to be left alone. To be fair, Pam did say if you need us just shout, so I guess coming off the back of being pampered in a hotel spoilt us and we may not have noticed this quite so much if we'd done it the other way round.||Either way, it didn't detract from a brilliant stay in a brilliant venue and location. So if you want to pretend to be a Laird for a few days (driving up to the castle is a real thrill) then I would wholeheartedly recommend Glengorm Castle. I don't know when, but I would love to go back sometime. Thank you.
