The park had been taken over since we originally booked and we were unable to have the caravan that we originally chose as it was unhabitable, however, the new owners couldnt be more helpful and gave us a cravan next door to family. The site is immaculately kept and the caravans are clean. Its an easy walk to the beach and town and although the adjacent pub is great for families.

Excellent place- we stayed in one of the cheapest caravans there and it was pretty old, however it was in really good condition and really clean and well taken care of. The site was lovely too, at the far edge there's a lovely bit of green with a few picnic benches and a playpark. The atmosphere was really laid back too and the staff are really friendly and helpful... I'd definitely stay again!

We booked this holiday last year for this year, having previously had such a fantastic time. We chose a mid priced range caravan with sleeping accommodation, showers and toilets at either end as we holiday with our son and disabled daughter in law and the layout suited our needs. ||||On arrival the camp looked well presented however our reception was less welcoming - "heres your linen, heres your keys" and that was it. . The caravan itself was clean, as was the hired linen. We found it slightly quaint and old fashioned to be presented with our linen at Reception and to have to make up our own beds. In over 40 years of hiring holiday accommodation, I cant remember the last time I had to do this and it was just as well it wasn't raining or the bedding would have been damp by the time we got it to our caravan. |||| We had no problems until we lit the gas fire. There was very little heat from it and never got warm enough even to glow slightly red. We had a quick shake of the gas bottles outside and they were easily moved, which meant that they were almost empty so the pressure would be low. Also, as the hot water took forever to become hot, we had a peep into the boiler cupboard to make sure the pilot light was on and were concerned to see that there was no glass in the inspection window, soot marks on the outside of the boiler by the unguarded window and the pilot light burned unevenly. We had no fear of carbon monoxide poisoning however as the gap through the bathroom window (even when it was shut) allowed more than adequate ventilation.||||When it came to showering, the ensuite shower worked perfectly but the second shower was impossible to regulate resulting in all the hot water being dumped through the shower head, followed by freezing water until the boiler kicked in again. We mentioned these problems to the owner/manager who said we had more than enough gas and we could either all use one shower that worked or use the communal showers across the car park. If I had wanted to use communal showers, I would have gone camping. ||||Since last year this caravan has aquired a much smaller television with a signal that constantly broke up at 9.00 p.m (also I am sure the TV last year had a dvd player on it) and wifi that is not only extremely expensive but hardly ever worked and, whilst it is only cosmetic, most of the net curtains were torn and there was a crack in the living room window. ||||Also potential hirers need to be aware that all the beds are short, with the single beds only beiing long enough for children (I am 5ft 2 and only just fitted), The caravan is advertised as having panel heaters in all bedrooms - the only bedrroom that is heated is the double and whilst it was not a problem last year when we holidayed in July, it did strike a bit chilly in September of this year.||||This site has a brilliant location in a wonderful town on a magical Island but, unfortunately we will not be returning. If this is a mid priced caravan, I would hate to see one of the budget models. Also, we would be unable to return even if we wanted as it appears they are discontinuing the linen hire service which means we would have to purchase bedding for single beds just to accomodate our holiday accomodation.

Ideal site if you have younger children as the site is compact, enclosed and traffic free. Also a nice site for sitting around with friends on a nice day with lots of picnic benches and flat grassy spaces outside the caravans. The adjacent pub is half decent and family friendly. Caravans were dated but comfortable, fully equipped and fully functional. Sandown and it's beach also tick the family box.

we have recently returned from a stay at this site, we chose a two bedroom caravan for 4 people in their economy range, it was in nice position in quiet spot even with skate board park behind it, in well planted grounds next to nature reserve. the caravan was clean and well equipped central for everything close to a pub and the bus routes with stops only a few metres from the entrance to the site, the staff were friendly and helpful at all time's we really could not fault the park at all.

A surprising gem of a place.
Only a few caravans on the site, so it's very quiet and peaceful.
Ever so beautiful and tidy around the park.
Very friendly owners and the caravan we had was lovely.
Near to all the main attractions.
Definitely worth a try.

This was our 2nd visit this year and we have another one booked . What can i say but amazing loved every minute. The management do a great job and this makes a huge differance. The gardens are kept immaculate and are award winning. The site is so quite and has everything you need for a great holiday for all ages

Me and my family have been going to the isle of wight since 1986 and we have stayed in many different holiday locations through the years ranging from luxury chalets, caravans and camping. We visited fort holiday park last year in June and loved it so much we booked it to go again this September, unfortunately the site has gone down hill drastically, the same caravan from last year and this year here is a list of all the basic problems before I move onto the major ones. Decking ramp rotted and rickety which ever way you walk up, 2-3 light bulbs out in the van, all sofa seat pads have lost all the support padding, front door to van has dropped so won't shut properly, paid for WiFi has no signal even when the WiFi antenna is right outside your window, carpets frayed in living room, double bedroom mattress has done so it has no spring retention any more. Now these are the minor bad points bare in mind so now for the major ones. Me and my wife have owned our own holiday caravan in a massive caravan park in Essex so we fully understand about heating, gas and water pressures, while we were staying there the gas pressure was not high enough to heat the fire, cook in the oven or heat the shower properly, so I checked the 47kg gas bottle at the back and it was empty, now we went to the office and we were told someone would come change it. When the guy turned up all he did was walk up the ramp knock on the door and tell us it was not empty as they put a full one on before we arrived. Now I know gas is heavy but when you can rock a 47kg gas bottle with 2 fingers it is not full. When I said but I own a caravan and know when gas is empty I was dismissed by the owner and he refused to listen to me and insisted it was fine, the next day when we got home there was not even enough gas to cook with if we wanted heating that night. We learned it has changed ownership since we booked and when talking about the gas the new manager said well there is enough here for the week your here. Now here is the crux we were there for 2 weeks and this was the second day there. You would think a so called manager would know how long his guests are there for. My wife is morphine dependant so over heats alot so we need our bedroom window open alot, he even moaned that we opened our bedroom window and said he was going to push it shut. This site is close to the shops 10min walk max but you do have to walk across a uneven gravel pathway to get there so not great for wheel chair access. My parents could not get any hot water to shower at there end even when all other gas sources were switched off, the gas boiler had soot marks where a match had been used to light the pilot light on the boiler (breach of health and safety with gas boilers), mattress in bedrooms covered in stains and pillows so flat that even with 2 there was no bounce left in them, gas flow so low that it took 1.5 hours to cook one pizza from chilled, 3 glasses between 4 people, curtains where old outdated and dirty, cracks in glass on the front door and would not lock properly, now the price it was around £420 per week and to give you a idea we are booked on another site now next year and it is only £306 for 2 weeks with much more luxurious accomodation. If you are thinking of going to the isle of wight avoid fort holiday park as with the new site manager it is not worth the money they are charging.
