Brilliant walks or cycle tracks through the forest all well sign posted. Good carparks near the information center, toilets and café. Some routes are set up for families like the Gruffalo track or Wallace and grommit walk. A selection of walks are on good tracks suitable for push/wheel chairs. Parking a little expensive 4 hours £12 all day £15 with yearly membership available. Very dog friendly.

The visitor centre is excellent and you can get a decent cup of coffee & a snack if you feel peckish before/ after your walk/ run/ cycle. For us it was an accessible walk to allow for a mobility scooter but it's worth knowing that wheelchair users could also enjoy several of the trails that start at the visitor centre. You may encounter cyclists and runners but we never felt in any danger of being known down by a mountain biker.

The forest is beautiful, plenty of photo ops, flora and fauna to spot. And after your outing there's a very nicely stocked shop with souvenirs, some great books and cuddly toys for the kids.

Parking is easy and accessible. An ANPR system reads you into the site and there are plenty of PayStations for when it's time to leave. Just let in your plate, confirm the machine for it right and present your card or device.

There's a bike hire place if you feel the urge, pedal and ebikes available. It's also the site of another cafe, toilets and an exhibition so worth checking out even if you don't want bike hire.

English visitors can join forestry England for 12 months free parking in all the sites and if the others are as good as Dalby you should get your money's worth.

Visited Sunday 9th April 2023, early afternoon.

Absolutely superb multi use forest park, great for individuals, couples, and families of all ages including those with disabilities and/or mobility issues.

Great variety of walking trails varying from paved, flat surfaces to steep hills through the forest itself.

Wide range of mountain biking trails from family friendly to novice but off road to world cup black runs, bike hire is available but worth booking in advance.

Visitors centre is as expected, hot and cold drinks, hot and cold food, ice cream etc, drinks are reasonable but food is a little expensive. Toilets and cycling facilities are available.

Price wise it's a flat £10 to enter/park, it doesn't matter if you're there for an hour or 6 hours...it's the same price so make the most of it by spending the day there.

We'll definitely be back....with my bike next time.

Great place with helpful staff. Recommended suitable walks for the ability of our group. We did get a little lost on our second walk as we couldn't find the way markers, it didn't matter we ended up following a cycle trail, and we found a Gruffalo. Disappointed the other cafe had been closed down although it is still showing on the website map.

Parking in season is a bit steep but if you spend all day there then it’s worth it for £10. Out of season it’s more reasonable at £5 however it does get busy so head further into the forest past the visitor centre towards High Staindale House YO18 7LR takes you straight to the car park.

Fabulous for a whole day out or just a lovely drive through.
Take time to check out the visitors centre.
Best walk is not on their boards - Bridestones takes you up on to the moor, past the stones and back through a beautiful valley.
So many different trails it would take more than one visit!

Great walks and cycle track, check your route before setting off, did the yellow route expecting it to be easier but some quite tough climbs, either wrong turn or it's not an easy route.
