We have just returned from a blissful 4 night stay. Check in and out was quick and easy and all the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. The site is lovely, the area is beautiful, our toddler loved the many walks and trails through the forest and was so excited to see deer and lots of lovely birds that we don't see at home. The forest retreat has a lovely little shop and coffee shop/restaurant. We did not use it but it did look nice. |The cabin was gorgeous, clean and very cosy feeling but also very spacious. The hot tub was a lovely addition to our stay and we spent most evenings in there relaxing and some early mornings, listening to the birds in the forest. The view from our hot tub was also fantastic as it looked out into the forest.|The only small changes I would like to see the park make is the freezer space. We had a four bedroom cabin but only one tiny freezer compartment at the top of the under counter fridge which is far too small. Also, although the beds were very comfortable the pillows were not, they were very hard. All in all though they are very minor things that did not affect the enjoyment of our stay so I would still give this holiday 5 stars and I hope to return again to this fantastic place in the near future.

We have had an amazing time at Forest Holidays in the Forest of Dean. We were there 23rd to 27th December and had a magical woodland Christmas. The cabin was gorgeous, clean and full of everything that we needed. We took a Christmas tree with us to put up but we didn't need it as there was already a real one in our cabin with fairy lights on it too. It was so magical. The hot tub was delightful. The staff were all very helpful and extremely polite and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. What a fantastic team. Well done to everyone. I spoke with the manager when we checked out to compliment her and her staff for doing an amazing job. They even held a wedding there on Christmas Day! |The beds are comfy, the living area is spacious even for our huge dog. |The welcome hamper and doggy treats were such a lovely touch. |My daughter loved the Fairy door hunt and my husband and eldest daughter enjoyed the Check point woodland game. |We will definitely be returning.

Outstanding Forrest location, lovely cabins and very comfortable beds. Cabins in relatively close proximity but still very private on the verandas. Worth bearing in mind the hot tub maintenance team come to clean the jacuzzis daily… in front of the floor to ceiling windows! (Make sure you’re dressed leaving your bedroom in the morning) a few good activities but not a lot for young people, loads of good restaurants within driving distance in both Winchester and Basingstoke and some outstanding nearby farm shops.

Our Stay at Forest Holidays, Forest of Dean - A Tranquil Escape

Our recent stay at Forest Holidays in the Forest of Dean was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of this stunning woodland, the retreat offered the perfect combination of nature, and relaxation.

The Accommodation
The cabin was spotless and beautifully designed, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. We stayed in a Golden Oak Cabin which featured modern amenities, a well-equipped kitchen, and a cozy lounge area with a wood-burning stove. The real highlight, however, was the private hot tub on the deck, where we could unwind while listening to the sounds of the forest.

The Location
The Forest of Dean itself is a treasure trove for nature lovers. From scenic walking trails to opportunities for cycling and wildlife spotting, there was always something to explore. The staff provided us with maps and recommendations for the best routes, making it easy to navigate.

Customer Service
The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. From the warm welcome at check-in to their responsiveness throughout, we felt genuinely cared for.

Overall Impression
Our stay at Forest Holidays in the Forest of Dean was a rejuvenating break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It’s a perfect destination for families, couples, or solo travelers seeking a peaceful retreat immersed in nature. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Just got back after a 5 day break at this wonderful place. We went to relax and unwind which is exactly what we were able to do. Ideal for our dog as the balcony is fully enclosed (half hot tub, half table and chairs). It was so nice being able to sit in the hot tub with being able to keep an eye on him in the other half or indoors. The chalet was perfect, comfy settee, and all the equipment you would need. The couple of staff i spoke too, a lovely lady who serviced the tub daily and a lady on reception were very friendly. It was honestly the best breakaway we've had. If I had to nitpick, I found the bed a bit hard but that's just my preference. Didn't want to leave and hopefully we will be able to return in the future.

We have enjoyed a few relaxing days away. Everything has been perfect and I was slightly worried before I came because of some of the negative reviews. Staff were really helpful and friendly at check in. Lodge is gorgeous, lots of space and was very clean. The hot tub was a huge hit and we used it twice a day. It was also filled up on our arrival and checked daily. |We enjoyed lovely walks in the forest and visited go ape. |We definitely plan to visit another forest holiday site in the future.

Short break holiday reasonable price outside peak time in October. Bad weather lots of rain
We had dog friendly silver birch lodge. Very bland and sterile compared to other lodges we stayed in before. Location on the meadow bit dull no forest view. Cabin outside could do with a new coat of wood stain. Takeaway burger was rubbish and overpriced. Stale bun overcooked burgers. The area is fabulous lots to see. Forest of Dean awesome we did some great walks. Staff great when we had a issue with overflowing toilet sorted it promptly. Hot tub was great. Bed was comfy. Nice location but I'd stay in different cabin if I go again

Be prepared to bring your own cleaning equipment! The lodge was very dirty and we had to do a full clean just to make it safe. Toilets dangerously dirty, black mould under kitchen sink, dishwasher in pieces and door rotten, floors filthy. Bath dangerously slippery and no bath mat given. The on site shop had literally no stock, no bread, no tea bags, was a big let down. Pot holes all over the site trashed my car. The linen and towels were dirty. It's a lovely forest and the hot tub was good, although old and falling apart. Saved up for a long time for this holiday and it was a heartbreak. Could not even call up to seek help as the whole park has no mobile phone signal. See photos.
