Fantastic place to stay. Firstly, the welcome , help, advice and attention from the staff was second to none.|A special thank you to Ollie & Kim ||The location is idyllic, looking over the millpond and into the forest from our hot tub was so peaceful and relaxing. The forest was also a lovely place to walk. The Hub was a lovely cozy place for an evening drink or two !|The lodge exceed our expectations. It was very cozy and comfortable and had everything we needed. The log fire warmed it up beautifully. |A great spot from which to get around some really pretty areas of Cornwall. We visited Looe, Polperro and Polruan.||I note from previous reviews, although people DO say how lovely it all is, and that the location, staff etc. are all good, it seems to me that some people feel the need to 'complain' about the smallest little things. | |If you are thinking of visiting Deerpark, don't let those reviews put you off. I think everyone should take a good look at the world around them, and appreciate they are on a gorgeous holiday, totally immersed in nature ,and feel grateful ! |There will always be little niggles wherever we are, that's called life.|All in all a wonderful break, we would highly recommend.|Thank you to all the team at Deerpark.

The cabin and surrounding area was lovely, we went for a few walks and a bike ride. Hot tub was nice, and there were lots of friendly birds and squirrels. However price was a little steep and my main issue was the privacy, because we arrived in a taxi and we didn’t have a parked car outside, the maintenance people would come at random times twice a day to check the hot tub and the cleaning lady walked in while we were still here, we’re lucky we weren’t undressed! The staff however are friendly and the cleaner was apologetic, I think there just needs to be a bit more thought put in to privacy side, eg give set times for hot tub check and cleaner comes when we’ve signed out at reception.

We’ve been on a couple of forest holidays and really enjoy the simplicity of the sites, the consistent standard of accommodation and the excellent customer service.||Last weekend was no different apart from the shadow of Storm Darragh. Sadly, our site lost power on Saturday night and was evacuated on Sunday afternoon. ||We were told we would be contacted by the company regarding compensation and, true to form, their great on-site customer service extended to the central office who have offered a full refund and 15% off a future break. We were sad to have to leave early but really pleased with the no quibble compensation. We’ll be visiting again, hopefully during more clement weather.

I really like the location of this place, I do prefer the forest of Dean location though. I don't wish to provide a list of negatives, I'd rather you made your own decisions, however, booking costs are high, make sure you bring your own food, the food offered by Forest Holidays is expensive and not that great. Overall, I'd recommend anyone to come and stay, just be well prepared with food and know what you want from your stay.

We stayed for the first time in June 2022 and reviewed it here then. We selected cabin 20 and it was great. ||We have just come back from another stay, again in cabin 20. ||A little sad to see my niggles haven't really been addressed since 2022 though. ||PROS|Peaceful & quiet.|Lovely hot tub maintained daily. |Comfy new sofa. |Nice towels.|Free WIFI (We seemed to be able to use the Premium WIFI for no extra cost. 20Mb up and down)||CONS (Mostly little niggles and not major issues)|Shower could be more powerful. |Balcony is a little tired and could do with a revarnish and the wood cleaned.|Hot tub heater can be heard throughout the night coming on and off. Didn't always wake us..||We would come back for a third time....

Having been to Forest Holidays at Forest of Dean (and loved it!) We managed to grab a last minute break and Deerpark was available. Generally a lovely site, we love these places to take our dog, plenty of room inside, the decking is secure and plenty of walks from the doorstep. Deerpark staff were so brilliant, helpful, friendly and overall lovely people. We joined the quiz night and had a laugh (dogs welcome too!).
Safe to say, we will be back 🙂

Booking reference is 6825977.|When booking our stay over the phone with an agent, we booked at Deerpark location and I explained that my partner is disabled and was assured that there are only a few steps in the Lodge but once we got there, to get to the living room there were a whole flights of stairs so my partner struggled, we also added breakfast to out stay but we're never told or explained that it was only a half breakfast, the lodge itself was in a very tired state and was very very dirty and scummy as you will see in the pictures, we checked in on 2nd December and we're due to checkout on the 9th Dec, due to the state of the place and my partner struggling due to stairs we had to checkout on the 5th Dec, I did explain everything to the staff member at the reception but he said there's nothing he could do as they were completely full, so I explained to him we can't stay here any longer and explained about all the issues we came across and all he did was apologise. |The shower had mould all around it, the sofa was very worn out and torn, dust all over light shades, laminate flooring near patio doors loose, decking where hot tub is was very dirty and was not cleaned as moss and fungus everywhere, cigarette butt's near pation table and chairs, radiators had thick dust all over it. The television had lines allrhe way down it so we could not see a clear picture, i did report the tele issue and an engineer popped over and said sorry we dont have any spare ones.When I got back home on the 5th I straight away called the mainline number and a lady called Sheila answered so I explained everything to her, she asked me a few questions and asked if I reported the issue when there which I explained I did. She said she would escalate the issue to a manager and a manager will call me the next day, I got no call so I called again and was stated to that I will get a call tomorrow but again no call, I've tried to call this morning but was on hold for over 1 hour. Hopefully this message will get someone to call me.

A "silver birch" experience for a "golden oak" price.

Though Forest Holidays Deerpark is in a nice location and in general the cabins are pleasant, we were very disappointed to experience a number of issues with our stay. In no particular order these were:

-Faulty hot tub (half the jets didn't work)
-Cleanliness issues (there was mould in the downstairs shower, underwear from the previous guests in one of the downstairs bedrooms, and food packaging also from previous guests in the other bedroom. )
-The robes in the master bedroom had clearly been worn and not washed; they smelled of stale sweat
-Though there was no noise from other guests, the location of this cabin next to what was presumably some team accommodation meant that on 5 of the 7 nights there was noise from some sort of strimmer being used (always around 8-9.30pm), which was rather disturbing

Given all this, the extremely high price and the lack of response from Forest Holidays Customer "Service"; we will think twice about another Forest Holidays experience.
