Just come back from our holiday. Sue and the team were lovely, made our stay extra special for the family. The cabin was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Ordered pizzas from the cafe on site delivered to our cabin on the first night they were lovely came with extras and ice cream. Had a meal in the cafe one night, too, and the food was delicious. The girls were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We are going back to the same site next year as there are too many places to explore around Yorkshire for 1 week. I'm already looking forward to our next holiday.

Excellent place if you're looking for a few days to get away from life. Staff are helpful; reception, bar, and small restaurant are all in one building. A little wait for food, but it's worth it. A small, basic park for kids, and you can buy a pot ornament and paint it. Plenty of walks and bike rides to do in the area. The cabins were spacious and clean.

After a 7-hour journey to this stunning part of the country, I was delighted to find a welcoming note from Clair and the team waiting for us. The lodge was immaculate, and the facilities were outstanding. Having previously stayed in the Gloucester Adapted lodge, I can confidently say that the bathroom in Cropton is top-notch and in need of no updates. ||The view from the lodge is absolutely breathtaking. ||I rated our experience 4 stars, primarily due to the food ordering and service. Despite the challenges, the three staff members were incredibly hardworking and did their best to provide good service.

Excellent retreat with lovely cabins. Extremely comfortable and the hotel tub was amazing. Highly recommended if you want to get away from it all in the forest. There were thousands of butterflies near our cabin and we saw rabbits too. Great for a rest and relaxation. There are many forest walks you can take too if you want to get out for a bit.

Just returned from a great week in Cropton. Cabins are well equipped, with the nice luxury of a hot tub. What was great was all the wildlife; bring lots of monkey nuts! There were deer, jays, rabbits, pheasants, bullfinches, blue tits, squirrels, hedgehog, and- driving nearby- you can see grouse and partridges.|| Staff were great, fixing the broken lid to the hot tub within the day, and providing a drying rack and extra towels. A suggestion for improving this great holiday would be a laundry room, with washers and dryers; a hot tub results in damp towels and swimming costumes everywhere. Location is great; there are loads of interesting places to visit within an hour’s drive. Make sure you drive over the North Yorkshire Moors, as they are stunningly beautiful.

great location and good activities, absolutely love all the staff i spoke to, and the maintenance and cleaning teams did great too. only thing i would change is a lower temperature on the hot tub during the hotter months, but i'm not sure if that's an option on the models they have. Still was lovely late in the evening

We enjoyed a week at Cropton last week in one of the premium lodges. We are a family of 5 with three kids and two dogs.||The lodges were really nice, four single beds and one double. Kids had a bed each and the dogs took up residence in the spare!||Hot tub was great but stopped working Thursday, so we weren’t able to use it Thursday and Friday before we left. (They did take it apart but weren’t able to fix it).||We did the mini rangers exploring at another local site which the kids enjoyed. The lady took us on a walk around the forest, pointing out things the kids had to look for, before ending with making a fire and roasting marshmallows.||They had a go at the pottery painting which was sadly overpriced and most of the paint pots were empty. It did keep them quiet for around 5 minutes though.||Plenty of local walking routes to take part in and a cute little playground in the middle.||Things I wish I knew before we went;||Take washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, bin liners & spare duvet covers (these don’t get changed and if you’re there for a week like us, it was pretty dire by the end). Sliders for the decking area by the hot tub. ||Dogs had a blast but beware of the ticks (we were warned in advance). We’d taken dog shampoo and washed them a few times whilst there so they were easier to spot. ||We saw lots of birds, hedgehogs, squirrels and a few deer. ||The shop had plenty of essentials and cute little nick nacks. We’re the proud owners of half the shop now. Food was okay on the couple of occasions we ate there.||Local attractions; we went to piglets adventure farm which was great for the kids. Highly recommend. We gave flamingo land a pass after reading their reviews. Took a trip to Scarborough beach which I can only really describe as hell on earth. It was nice just to wander around the little towns and see the sights.||We will definitely come again as I feel there was so much we didn’t get to do. We noticed they had zip wire at the neighbouring site and will probably take a look at that one next time.
