A fabulous painting holiday from start to finish. A beautiful villa in Puglia, wonderful food and wine and a really brilliant painting tutor, Deirdre, who brought the best out of all of us - beginners and seasoned artists alike. The itinerary was perfectly balanced and trips well organised and our group of 8 (perfect size) was lovely - we’re all still in touch. Thank you, Flavours, for a memorably happy week.

I have gone on many Flavours holidays and have always had a brilliant time. I have been to Sicily, Puglia and Amalfi in Italy. I've also been to Loch Lomond and Elie, Fife in Scotland. I can honestly say I cant pick fault with any of them and have always enjoyed myself. If you have any doubts about going on holiday on your own, then you will have no worries. You are always made to feel welcome and even part of the family, from your initial contact with the staff at HQ to being there and looked after by the staff at the villa. There is a well balanced mix with enjoying days out and taking part in the cooking or painting or whatever you have chosen to do. From socialising with your guests to taking some time on your own. The accommodation with the food is always of a very high quality and they take a great pride in making sure everything is right for you. I cant sing their praises high enough. Ive booked my second holiday for this year, and already looking at next years.

It is nearly four months since I returned from Marrakesh and Flavour’s stunning villa in Ourika at the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. It was an unforgettable experience from the moment I arrived at the villa, I thought it was a palace floodlit for a son et lumiĆØre performance, the outlines of the building being accentuated in the dark by artful illumination. Inside was even more spectacular with bright high ceilings, walls of windows and monumental art work, which also includes some of the furniture.
Our group was a diverse mixture of individuals who enjoyed interesting holidays and were sociable but not intrusive.
We shared many activities on this ā€˜taster’ holiday. Every morning started with Pilates classes . There were various abilities and all were catered for admirably by Mandy.
Mark was our excellent photography tutor who took us out on location in the farmer’s market in Ourika to see the myriad local sights and take some unforgettable images. We were set tasks and had evening shows after dinner of our ā€˜best shots’!
We also had a taster painting day at the villa with Mark which was very inspiring.
My favourite day was the expedition to the mountains and a walk by the rushing river carrying away the melting snow from the spring blizzards. The weather was warm and there were riparian cafes full of local families out enjoying themselves due to the local holiday season. Wandering musicians entertained us. We walked in the mountains through a souk of carpet makers and alabaster sculptors as well as fresh orange juice cafes. The sights and sounds of mountain life were fascinating. Eventually we reached the beautiful waterfall and descended to the village for lunch by the river and drew pictures of the scenes of weeping willows in spring bloom.
Marrakesh and the Majorelle gardens was a more sophisticated experience. I am desperate to return as I have not yet managed a trip to the Yves St Laurent museum…
Do not hesitate to book a flavours holiday! You will meet wonderful people, make new friends and bond over an unforgettable shared experience. I have lost count of the flavours holidays I have experienced. Painting, cooking, now Pilates… next trip Granada!

Having been on many cooking holidays with Flavours (10yrs now), I can honestly say they have been amazingly wonderful experiences. If you’re worried about travelling solo then worry no more as you’ll meet lovely people and make new friends whilst learning all about the Italian way of cooking. The Villas are chosen well for their location and beauty. They are great value for money, everything is taken care of and you’ll spend very little money once you’re there. It’s the perfect get away. My favourite villas to date are ā€˜Villa Dominica’ in Venice (pictured) and ā€˜Casino Pisanelli’ in Puglia, although they are all beautiful. I will be booking another one for sure soon. šŸ¤—

If your thinking of a flavours trip and have doubts about solo travel or fitting in with the group etc it is normal to have these feelings and thoughts . Yes it's a big step if you haven't travelled solo before but be assured I felt like that on the first trip and my worries went away as soon as I was picked up at the airport and met the group and host. A flavours holiday is a truly wonderful experience and I have been on a total of three now . Have met many people from all walks of life and have remained friends with many . In fact two ladies I met on my first trip to Puglia have since joined me on a flavours trip to Amalfi . We are all celebrating big birthdays this year and are meeting up in London for lunch at Eataly and possibly discuss another trip in the future . Just go with an open mind and I can say it was better than I could of imagined . For any doubters out there I hope to one day read your messages on flavours site !

Had a wonderful time in Puglia, amazing villa, brilliant Pilates, fabulous food. Flavours holidays are ideal for solo travellers, always a small number of likeminded people, 7/8. Everything is done on a personal level. Have been on 3 of their holidays and had a great time each trip. Would highly recommend.

Enjoyed another brilliant holiday with Flavours, this time in stunning Amalfi. The location really did feel like a dream and the Flavours team ensured that everything - from dining to transportation to accommodation - ran so professionally and with love.

I just returned home to Canada after enjoying my second holiday with Flavours, and I am just as pleased with this trip (and I was delighted with the first one)! Everything was brilliant. Flavours takes such good care of everyone, especially solo travellers. The accommodations in Sicily were lovely and the day trips were so varied and fun. The paining instructor, Mark, was so patient and encouraging, and a great lifeguard at the gorgeous pool, too! I cannot recommend Flavours Holidays highly enough, and I can’t wait to go on another one.
