Had two fantastic treks on Latch and Freddie. Hadn’t ridden for well over 20 years so quite rusty but felt completely at home in no time. Fabulous routes and scenery and lovely instructor. Enjoyed it so much am planning going to riding centre and taking up lessons again when I get home and hope to come back next year for more trekking 🤗

Really wonderful 2 hour hack! It was just me and Jackie hacking through the woods, with views of Lee abbey and valley of the rocks! My boyfriend went to the lovely Cafe and on a walk nearby with the dog. Such a lovely place with a goat area that you can go into and feed them for £1 per feed bag. The horse I was on was adorable and I was advised of any quirks the horse had which was much appreciated as I felt a lot more at ease knowing what it may do! Had a couple canters which were so fun! I’m practicing cantering in my lessons and this definitely helped with my confidence! Was some steep areas to lean back whilst going down but the horses were so trustworthy! Lovely people owning the yard! Would definitely come again if traveling this way again!!

Absolutely brilliant 👏. Jackie was great at teaching us the basics and all the horses - latch. Dillon, molly and widget were lovely. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area looking for something fun, adventurous but also fairly easy. Me, my husband, my 16 year old son and 78 year old mother in law all had a wonderful time ☺️

Traveled here from Chicago for hacking that wasn’t western saddle and holy guacamole. Outstanding 2 hour hack. Horses are clearly happy and healthy and well trained. I cannot recommend this experience and business enough. I think I cried a little while cantering past the abbey. Just make sure you stop in after for a chicken pot pie and their delicious cider. 10/10. Will be back!!!

We had a lovely hour here trekking down on well chosen horses down a stunning valley. The young woman who led our family’s tour was friendly, knowledgeable and highly professional.

It would have been a lot more wonderful had the stable manager been kinder to our autistic and ADHD child - when I had notified the stable on booking of their disability. If you are going to work in a public-facing role trying to share your love of horses it’s probably a good idea to educate yourself a bit more.

3 of us enjoyed the ride, but the 4th experienced an unnecessarily high level of stress caused by this lady, and we had an afternoon of meltdowns as a result.

If an autistic child needs a moment longer to check if their helmet is comfortable, they are not being annoying, they are dealing with intense hyper arousal in a scary new environment. Telling them they need it in case a horse kicks their head in will not help. Also, if you say we must not let the horses walk side by side, but put my child’s horse on a lead rein so that they are parallel to the tour guide, they will be confused and worried unless you explain that you have just created an exception to the rule you introduced.

If I offer reassurance or clarification to my child, I am not challenging your authority. I am an expert in their disability and I am providing the support they need to feel comfortable. If you are sniffy or short with me because you feel we are being fussy, my hyper aroused child will pick up on this and get even more worried as they feel they can’t trust anyone.

If you know about animals and their nervous systems, it’s not rocket science. If you are ignorant, at least know that you are, and accept parents as experts in their child’s needs.

We’ll try elsewhere next time.

Cannot fault this riding center! Although an experienced rider I booked in for a beginners trek due to those I was coming with having no prior experience. It's suitable for young children and those much older. I must thank the staff, and Sophie who was our organiser, in the brilliant way they delivered this experience. The views on the trek are great with a slight peek at the ocean too. Horse-wise they are all lovely, and I was blessed to have ridden Balou. For children who complete the trek, they are also allowed to pick up a rosette at the end for no extra charge.

Went for the two hour ride and it was perfect.
A nice mix of walking, trotting and canters.
Horses were perfectly behaved and as experienced riders we had little to do other than enjoy the ride as the horses did exactly what was asked.
The staff were welcoming and made the day even more enjoyable.
Will be back soon.
